With Clemson’s loss to ND, Bama will extend their record to 13 straight seasons being ranked Number 1 in the AP Poll at some point during the season. The greatest run in the Tide’s illustrious history just keeps on going full bore! The only thing that can stop it is Saban’s retirement. When will that be? Me, I’m hoping he coaches well into his 70’s!

Of course, like many of us, I IMMEDIATELY thought of 77. The hate I already had for ND as an 8 year old seeing them ruin New Years for my folks, in 73, was cemented when they mysteriously jumped us for the natty in 77. That was an amazing team we had then. I remember the Touchdown club, I think, awarding their National Championship trophy to Ole Miss, since THEY beat Notre Dame.

I could also say something political here, but I'll pass.

Five weeks. The entire month of November.

Yeah, 2008 was when it really felt like Alabama was back (to me). Beat Clemson to start the season, beat Georgia in the blackout, righted some wrongs at LSU, & ran Tuberville’s ass out of town. Lost to UF in championship game, but you could see how it could be under Saban. Good times!
* Oh yeah, & added #2 to the streak of ass whippings to Tennessee

BYU at #3 for that one guy? I also saw where two guys at ESPN projected BYU over Clemson for the 4th Playoff spot. Hey, I like BYU's coach as I have learned a lot about their team the last couple of years with their late kickoffs and them being my last betting chance on a Saturday night, BUT, they aren't even close to competing with Clemson. Clemaon would beat BYU by 45 points.
