and USC's record comes with the asterisk. USC had their seven in a row from '02 - '08 (if we set aside their NCAA issues.) With Bama's win last night...

No other program has more than five.

On that same line ...

On of the announcers mentioned that Scott has the school record for most punting yards in a career. You know, when you hear that you'd think he'd been punting, A LOT! In most cases seeing that kind of record would make you think the team hasn't had a good run through his career, right? He's seen four losses in his time at Bama (51-4: .927.)

Alabama has defeated 73 consecutive unranked teams under head coach Nick Saban, which is a new FBS record. The Tide entered today's game tied with Miami (Fla.) (1985-95) and Florida (1990-2000) at 72 consecutive wins. Alabama's last loss to an unranked team came against Auburn to close out the 2007 season. The current streak began with a win over Colorado on Dec. 30, 2007, in the Independence Bowl. Under Saban, Alabama holds a 77-3 (.963) (73-3, .961 after vacations) mark against unranked opponents, including a perfect mark in unranked matchups since 2008.

Alabama has played 85 games as the nation's top-ranked team since the inception of the Associated Press Poll in 1936. In those games, the Crimson Tide boasts a 74-11 (.871) record. Those numbers are even more impressive when you look at the 11 seasons under the direction of head coach Nick Saban (2007-present). Since the ninth game of the 2008 season (127 games), Alabama has played 61 games while being ranked No. 1, posting a 55-6 (.902) record during that span.

During his time at Alabama, Saban owns a 49-6 (.891) record against non-conference opposition, including a 32-1 (.970) mark at home. The Crimson Tide is currently riding a 30-game winning streak against non-conference opponents at home after losing to ULM in 2007 by a score of 21-14. Saban-coached Alabama teams are outscoring non-conference opponents 2,086-646 (37.9-11.7 ppg) and have shut out the opposition 10 times.

Alabama's 56-0 win over Mercer on Nov. 18 marked the 79th time under head coach Nick Saban that the Crimson Tide has held opponents to 10 points or less, the eighth time in 11 games this season and the 23rd time in the last 40 games dating to the start of the 2015 season

Nothing like a fresh bunch of statistics to infuriate the haters. Even though I don't put a lot of stock in most of them these wins in all areas are starting to add up and tell a story that's never been seen.

Kinda like Lebron James and his pursuit of being the greatest player in history. So many haters for so many years, but now all the records are falling and without saying a word there's Lebron still tearing up the league.

And maybe the best coach in college football will actually win the coach Bryant trophy while actually at Alabama. The one Dabo has somehow secured the last two years.

@TerryP , This should get him that Ray Guy Award this year, I still think he should have won back in his freshman year.

The Crimson Tide has scored in every quarter this season. In fact, the streak actually goes all the way back to the fourth quarter of last year’s playoff game against Washington and now extends to 49 quarters (12 games and a quarter).
