📝 Bama Ol/dl Camp On Saturday

Our new athletic complex is going to be ridiculously stupid big! I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of great changes. New soccer field and a new track that can be used to host events (can't do that on asphalt track).

I am right next to you via Fox Valley. It's definately a different Thompson than what I grew up by and the Tax base is growing even larger. I think Thompson becomes the next Hoover type program.. money helps

Of course, that's where @bama alum is from. ;)

Teachers...

I've lived and taught here for twenty years; this town's population and tax base have grown exponentially in that amount of time. When the third major shopping center is developed in the next few years...Well, I do get the idea behind modeling Hoover. The small town feel though is nearly gone. I do miss that.

I spent a lot of time out on Smokey road when I was younger with my step brother and working in the fields cutting hay and then stacking hay bails in the barn. I "dated" a few girls from Thompson too. It used to be country folks out there and they had a typical country like sports program. They had a good football team every two or three years (always better than the one I went to.. Pelham) had a decent basketball team but the programs were just barely funded enough to get by.

Now they went out and hired a superstar coach who has the right mindset, a growing community with a variety of kids to choose from and all the money they will ever need for facilities and such. The people there are still a lot less pretentious than the "Hoover elite" so I think they will start getting the kids who are looking to go to a school to get noticed and/or developed because the kids will fit in better than at Hoover.
I have seen it coming for a while in the youth programs and it's about to hit the high school. I expect them to be much improved this year and look out for next year..
