ROBINSON, JAMES, TENNISON JOIN ALABAMA FRESHMEN TO DEBUT THIS SEASON: Running back Brian Robinson and tight ends Kedrick James and Major Tennison became the 13th, 14th and 15th true freshman to see action for the Crimson Tide this season with their appearances today. Other first-year players who have debuted for UA this season are: Christopher Allen (LB), Thomas Fletcher (SN), Najee Harris (RB), Jerry Jeudy (WR), Alex Leatherwood (OL), Xavier McKinney (DB), Dylan Moses (LB), Henry Ruggs III (WR), DeVonta Smith (WR), Tua Tagovailoa (QB), Jedrick Wills Jr. (OL) and Daniel Wright (DB).

I think Ruggs III will be a good returner , he did good till he drop that ball, lucky Bama was close to cover it!

I'm content with him returning ko's for now. He bobbled just about every fair catch as well as the one he muffed and picked up (was a pretty nice return but lucky we didn't lose the ball). Diggs also put it on the ground but that appeared to be him trying to do to much when he should have made a fair catch. Diggs seems to be the more sure handed of the two right now. I'm thinking they are both frustrated that they aren't getting enough chances to make a play. Vandy only kicked off once yesterday ;) and that one was out of the endzone. Seems most of the kickoffs we've received have been deep and unreturnable. Bama seems to be one of the few teams that trusts their cover unit. I'm pretty sure JK can kick it out of the endzone too but we seem to consistently put the return man down well inside the 20 as opposed to touchback and 25. Also allows for some big hits and potential turnovers.

I do think we can do better on punt returns. Vandy had a good punter but we didn't do a very good job holding up their gunners. Looked like we were trying to get pressure most of the day but his style and their scheme didn't allow it. I would have liked to see us drop everyone back a few times and see if we could have given Diggs a few more shots.

@EasyTider right now I think it best that Scott kicks don't go all the way into the end zone, or at the end. The cover team has been doing a good job in keeping them from crossing the 20 so far this year. So if it you take a knee in the EZ you get it on the 25 right, if it goes out the back of the EZ you get it on the 30. I don't think Vandy when trying to run it out got pass the 25 did they?

Brian Robinson... More please. Thanks

For real dough - The rest of the country is burning RS's cause they need em'. Saban burns them because after 2 months of practice realizes he's going to bring in someone better and wants to cycle through quicker. lol

I believe, Rickey, that if it goes out of bounds it goes to the 30. I don't think if it goes beyond the endzone, it's at the 30.

Kick out of bounds goes to 35. At first i thought @rick4bama was wrong but I think if the receiving team does not touch the ball and it goes out of bounds while crossing goal line, it does go to 30. If caught and downed (take a knee) then 25.

So far, we are doing well with high kicks that land right on or a few feet beyond goal line. Our kick cover unit arrives fast and with bad intentions.

I think Coach is realizing the negative recruiting going on with us stockpiling talent so he is using every opportunity to get them playing time to show you can see the field if you come ready to work. Also, I think Coach clearly saw the attrition at linebacker and realized he needs to work on getting more into the rotation so there aren't as many deer in headlight moments on the back end of the schedule when it realky starts getting thick.

You all know something, I can remember reading on here. That we all wanted a kicker to kick it into the end zone. Right now I think Scott can do that or keep in the field of play. As long as he keep it between the line I'm happy. Because, we got us some dang-gum headhunters.

I believe this freshman class will have the most drafted players, and with a little luck eventually have the most wins. The question is how many titles if any.

Freshmen in 09 won three titles. That'll be hard to beat. :D

As long as the true freshmen can play in significant games, it does not matter who plays. I just don't want to burn a redshirt because we have a large lead. If someone is injured or older players are not performing well, then I have no issues.

You know that Bama will be losing players to the NFL at the end of the season. So I see no problem in seeing these true freshman getting any playing time.

Two lost for the season, two shirts off.

But, that's technically one shirt off because Moses was going to see the field anyway. Would Allen? I don't know.

I agree, Moses was not redshirting. I was thinking Allen might, in favor of Ben Davis since he is a redshirt Freshman, but I am still baffled that he is nowhere to be found here with the attrition.

I know the hate for my guy Boz is super high on this board... But he's mentioned that Ben Davis is just super soft.

BTW he also mentioned last week that Robinson would get some snaps at full back.

Terry - I did see him get in early... Just want to see that kid tote the rock. I think he might be special

So a guy that's getting reps at a position he's been playing that's supposed to what, insider knowledge?
He's not hated. He's just a dick head and he doesn't have the skin to take somebody calling him out on his bullshit.

The same has happened everywhere he sticks his nose in.

I actually enjoyed the guy. I never had an issue with CrimsonBoz, as his information was spot on with the things I heard. A lot of folks just hate a guy that has more information than them. Of course, I really enjoyed Verne Lundquist, so maybe it's more of me being strange?
