The Crimson Tide gathered multiple event titles for the third time this season, highlighted by Gabby Gladieux’s fourth consecutive on the floor exercise
ATHENS, Ga. – Despite leading at the halfway mark and capturing multiple event titles in one meet for the third time this season, the No. 14 Alabama gymnastics program (1-3, 0-3 SEC) came up short to No. 12 Georgia (3-3, 1-1 SEC), 196.575-196.975, Friday night inside Stegeman Coliseum.
The Crimson Tide posted its second-highest team score (196.575) and second-highest vault score of the season (49.125).
Gabby Ladanyi posted a career-high mark on balance beam (9.875) in only her first season competing, collegiately, on the apparatus. Meanwhile,
Chloe LaCoursiere made her career debut in the all-around, finishing third with a 39.175.
UA veteran duo
Gabby Gladieux (floor exercise, 9.900) and
Lilly Hudson (all-around, 39.350) won event titles, the fourth of the season for Gladieux and Hudson's second of 2025.
Alabama Head Coach
"I saw a lot of fight from our team tonight. That was really our mission coming in – to stay locked in for four hours, to start strong during warm ups, to handle the distractions, the chaos, the loud crowd, and I thought they did a really great job of that. They came in and they fought hard. They never gave up. They continued to chip away and do everything in their power to try to come out with a win. Unfortunately, it didn't go that way, but I do feel like we learned a ton from this meet. I think this team turned up the intensity this week in training, and they're continuing to just dig in, and they're hungry to keep getting better.
"Overall, I think we accomplished a lot tonight, to only lose by just a couple of tenths where we gave quite a few [routines] away, especially right there at the end. I think that gives [us] a chip on [our] shoulder and something to really work towards as we go into another tough matchup against LSU next week."
