Alabama, victorious in its 2013-14 season opener at Olympia Fields, kept hold of the top spot in the latest Golf World/Nike Golf Division I coaches' poll. The defending NCAA champions won their seventh straight event dating back to last spring when they claimed the Fighting Illini Invitational title by 18 strokes. The Crimson Tide earned 16 of the 21 available first-place votes.

Good stuff. I'm hoping the girls can rebound after last years final rounds. I can't remember, but was it San Jose State that was in there with Alabama, USC, and Duke? I'm wondering why they're not up there, unless they lost a lot due to seniority.

I can't recall.

It appears to me one good showing at a tourney has a BIG impact on voting.

If you recall, we hired a guy for our M team who was the HC at Okie State. He was fired because it was the first season they had in a long time where they didn't make the 64. But, here they are back in the top 10.
