There's an article out on Orge taking a real reserved approach on commitments/visits in the spring. It caught my eye the other day but I didn't read through it in detail. It was enough to make me think he's taking a different approach.

I have read that UGA will not take but 4 DL this cycle which might very well have come into play with this recruit.

Which is rather incredible. He got caught with his pants down with their cornerbacks' last cycle. Seems it was Surtain or bust at a strong position of need.

TUSCALOOSA — Alabama's 2019 football recruiting class is starting to take shape after receiving a quality four-star boost today.

Highly coveted quarterback Paul Tyson, the great-grandson of legendary Alabama head coach Paul "Bear" Bryant, was the second of two high-priority four-star prospects to verbally commit to the Crimson Tide. Rashad Cheney Jr., a 270-pound defensive end from Georgia, committed earlier.

"I felt the same calling that my Great Grandfather had when he was asked to come home," Tyson wrote in a letter posted to Twitter. "Alabama is home and that's where I want to spend my college career."

Cheney and Tyson are the fifth and sixth members of Alabama coach Nick Saban's 2019 recruiting class, and the first two to commit this calendar year, though both come at need positions in the class.

The 6-foot-4 Tyson of Hewitt-Trussville is the nation's No. 7 rated pro-style quarterback for 2019, according to 247Sports.com's composite rankings, and chose the home-state Crimson Tide over offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, Kentucky and LSU, to name a few. Tyson, who threw for nearly 3,400 yards and 36 touchdowns last season, made an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa on March 2 and has been an expected commitment for awhile.

Cheney, of Cedar Grove, Georgia, is rated the nation's No. 17 defensive tackle, according to 247Sports.com, but has room to grow with a listed size of 6-2 and 270 pounds.

"After a great talk with coach Saban I am 100% COMMITED to the University of Alabama," Cheney wrote on a Twitter post. "
