This is not a very good Alabama basketball team. If they’re not hitting 3’s, this game 7 for 26, they will lose a lot of games.

Alabama fell to Western Kentucky, 73-71, on Saturday afternoon in a game that ended in some confusion over a goaltending call.

With the game tied, 71-71, with less than 30 seconds remaining, Western Kentucky’s Josh Anderson missed a layup as the shot clock expired. Teammate Charles Bassey grabbed the rebound and was ruled as being goal-tended on his shot by John Petty, giving the Hilltoppers a 73-71 lead.

Ouch. I know, Western Kentucky is a good squad. I just don’t feel we should have lost to them. I don’t expect to dominate these OOC smaller schools but I hope to beat them.

Must have missed half dozen layups...or lay ins...

bout like they have been last 6-8 years...

This team is still very much a yo yo. They have their good moments, and then they'll play horribly. I dont expect them to play in either the NIT or NCAA tourney this year. Oates still has work to do with these guys. Theyll be a .500 team or a couple games below.

Eh. They aren’t playing cupcakes like some of our SEC brethren. Playing decent teams this time of year builds some experience and the resume. Much too early to make definitive statements either way IMO

Best to resolve that 17-15 is what it is at Bama. Our team is operating with I3 processors where at least and I5 is required.

Watched most of the game. Bama D was improved. They still get owned inside at times. Turnovers have been ok this year but showed up today. The one consistent thing has been poor 3 point shooting. Oats scheme requires them to be much better to be successful. At this point the team is different but about like they were last year. They probably have more depth but there is no Kyra Lewis out there to get them out of a bind. Petty so far has been a big time disappointment. As a team they are trying to figure out how to play together and I know that takes some time. My opinion but when your offense runs through Jones you are limited. I love the kid but his offensive skills have always been limited. They have improved and man would I love for him to prove me wrong in the end.

Pretty sure if he was out there they do not lose that game. Probably win by double digits. Easy to say no way to know.
