Defensive tackle Coynis Miller Jr. had a difficult day at practice Wednesday. The junior got into a verbal confrontation with an assistant coach and was sent to the locker room. The sticking point was what the coach saw as lack of effort, a recurring theme throughout the Birmingham native's college career, and Miller responded angrily. He then was asked to leave.

Miller is expected to meet with head coach Gus Malzahn at some point Thursday. Though this is a fluid situation, some observers believe Miller will be dismissed from the team for good.

Auburn has considerable depth at defensive tackle right now. Still, Miller was seen as a potential starter inside.

We will update as conditions merit

AL.com put out an article yesterday stating he's no longer with the team.

Auburn hasn't been hit as badly as LSU when comparing the '19 roster to the 2020 squad (currently 32 by my count vs LSU's 35.) It's not pretty.

Derrick Brown, Jeremiah Denson, Prince Taga Wanago, and Marlon Davidson are among the 17 players who graduated from last years team. They have numbers behind them but based on what we saw last season it's a group that didn't provide a lot of production.

There are a dozen players who have left for "other reasons." As I recall only one hit a P5 school; TCU. The others, those how have found a team, have drifted down to JUCO and G5 programs.

Auburn had three early entrants to the draft: two went undrafted.

32...call it at least 20 who contributed who are now gone.

Cow college again nothing to see here!

What are your thoughts now?

I knew their roster was going to take a big blow from an NFL prospect standpoint, but was a little surprised to hear recently just how badly a blow it took. I guess I shouldn't have been based on their history under Gus, but scouts aren't going to be beating down their doors to check out their guys this year like they were last season.

I'll start making fun of Auburn when we start beating them consistently, if that ever happens. Even CNS is 8-5 against them.

Gave up 48 points last year. They earned the bragging rights.
So what is your definition of consistent? BTW I agree but curious what your idea is. I would much rather be on the 8-5 side than the 5-8. I am pretty sure the Barners are happy with the 5-8. That is a badge of honor for them as pathetic as it is. Bama on the other hand is unhappy with the 8-5. That is truly the difference in the tradition of Bama and the Barn.

LSU has been superior to Auburn most years, and we ran off what 8-9 in a row against them. The most consecutive wins Bama has had in recent times against AU has been 3, and that's with one of the best two college football coaches in history coaching against Chizik and Malzahn.

I would say 4 out of 5 against AU would be reasonable. Over 13 years, that would make it 10-3 or 11-2 against them. I would think everyone here would agree that Bama should be no worse than 10-3 vs AU over that time period.

Nick Saban outcoached himself in 2013 and 2017 for sure.....he played with a tight azz and lost. When you go into FarmLand you better go with enough emotion to try and counter a team that is always at fever pitch.

Oh and F U Cade Foster

Crazy ass shit happens at Jerk off hair stadium, and that's even more so the case in Iron Bowls played there. Hell, Georgia nearly blew a 3 touchdown lead there last season with less than 7:00 left in the game. They somehow managed to evade the devil magic that was brewing and got out of there with a win that was much closer than it should have been. But at least they got away from there with the W. We on the other hand, shit the damn bed when it mattered most. We had chances. Our offense more than did it's part. It was the defense that couldn't get that anemic offense of their's off the field. Lil bo bo Johnny footballed all damn day long. When Shivers scored the go ahead TD to make it 48-45, I had a sinking feeling that that was the ballgame, even though we had ample time left to do something. And how in the hell did Saban get fooled there at the end? As much I hate, loathe, despise, abhor gus malcontent and everything about him, I wasn't so much pissed at him for pulling that shit as I was at Saban for being duped. No reason in the world why Saban should have fallen for that.

I'll be happy when our streak against AU is similar to our streak with UT.
