šŸˆ AU or UT? Which one will be the most improved?

During this glorious period of the rebirth of Alabama football supremacy, :halo: it’s sometimes difficult to remember that there are those programs that are less fortunate. That's understandable, given all of the blessings which have been bestowed upon us these past 12 months or so. Going undefeated during the regular season, winning a second straight top national ranking in recruiting, having undeniably one of the top 2 or 3 coaches in America, Bryant-Denny stadium expansion with more coming, and an ever-present anticipation of not if - but how many national championships CNS will bring to the Capstone in the next 5 years. It’s all great stuff. Add to that the sharp decline of both the Tennessee and Auburn programs and one can get just plain giddy if one let’s one’s self…. :dazed: :hyper:

So….given UT’s and AU’s recent troubles and their subsequent efforts to right their respective ships (coaching fires/hires)...
Which of the two programs do you expect to be the most improved in 2009?

Also, which of those two programs do you think will be in the best shape 3 years from now?
Your opinions are appreciated... :a:

Good question AFF.

I think it will be UT. If there were any way for these two teams to repeat the glory of last year.....I would be all for it.

I think UT has bit more talent than AU at this time. Neither institution has a QB per say, and I don't think they will find one by the first week of September either. Having said that. We own the state and I see that it will only get better with winning. Tennessee is not exactly a hot bed of talent, but with us owning the state.....I think they are about to go through the Shula years. Competing with the likes of So Miss, UCF, USF, etc for athletes.

UT has some good recruiters and I feel like they will land some talent. I don't think that Charlie Foxtrot group of coaches will be able to get the most out of them, but they will have some talent. Less down at LSWho has shown that assinine coaching can be overcome by talent. Therefore I say UT will be better in 3 years. Not much, but they will be better IMO.

I have to go with UT as well. For no other reason that they don't have to make the run AU would to be back in the top half of the SECE.

I don't see UT unseating the UGA and UF stranglehold on the top two spots in the East.

Then, looking at Auburn, they have to get through twice as many teams that'll likely have staff's far more intanct.

One question I have is which team has the most shake-up in their staff after year one. I won't be surprised to see UT have two, maybe three, coaches move on to other jobs after the 2009 season.

This is a tough one for me. I might lean towards UT slightly, and that is mainly because they probably have more talent on hand at the current time than Auburn does.

If you're looking at the two staffs, I'm not sure what to think? Call it a draw? We all know Orgeron and Kiffin coached at USC. That should carry some weight, but were they coaching there because they were good recruiters or could they actually coach players? If Kiffin's previous behavior is any indication of his coaching abilities, then God help UT. Orgeron was a guy that recruited everyone and their brother to Ole Miss (Houston Nutt is reaping those rewards now) but couldn't win anything there. So I have my doubts.

On the flip side, Chiznizzle was setting records for futility at Iowa State, so what kind of coach is he? The year before he took over the Cyclones won 4 games. His first season they won 3, and 2 the next. That's not a good trend. Is Auburn's talent level now much better than Iowa State's?

Chizik is going to have a tough time this year, but Tennessee will too, IMHO. This is almost like betting on the Special Olympics.
