🏈 At some point, we are going to need to upgrade at offensive coordinator

Yeah, no one knows why we quit with 1:29 left on the clock and fourth down for LSU, it makes no sense in the world why we left timeouts on the board

Oh, I know why. That's Saban's style, close to the vest and conservative.
I just don't think it was right. Then again, I ain't paid to make those decisions.

I questioned it myself too, but general rule of thumb is if you are at home you play for OT. If you are on the road try to end it as soon as possible.

Should we have followed the rule of thumb here? The way that the two defenses were playing, OT figured to be a battle of field goal kickers. Their guy was better than ours. Our best chance to win was to do so in regulation.

My next statement may need to be in it's on thread, but since we a talking about OT, I'm going to put it here.

I've never liked the OT system since it's been put in place. I've always thought that the 25 is to close. I think it should be moved back to the 35 or 40. Or, put the ball on the 10 and say no Field Goals, you've got 4 tries to score a TD.

This sounds like ramblings from someone who never played the game TideAlum05. Saying a young kid is garbage when he goes 16-28 for 199 isn't garbage. How many sacks did he take? Did he throw the ball away to avoid more lost yardage? To say receivers don't do crap because they don't wind up on the stat sheet is ludicrous. A qb has progressions to make and often times the deep throw that everyone wants to see is a peek to see if he is wide open, then immediately down to intermediate and underneath. Ever take a snap and have 5-6 pissed off guys trying to rip your head off? You have 2.5-3 seconds to make the decision as to where to make the throw.

I have never played a down of football in my life. AJ's QB rating for the game was 109.7 according to ESPN. A 109.7 QB rating in college is absolutely terrible. If you think AJ played well or even decent, I'm not sure we were watching the same game.

Did AJ cost us the game? NO!!!! Would you have rather had the 5th yr senior for LSU throwing for us? NO!!! Would you have rather had a reshirt freshman in there for us? NO!!! Those QB ratings are great for the pros, but AJ has a few years before that opportunity arises. Did he play great? No he didn't, BUT he did give us a chance to win the DAMN game!! I watched every snap of the game in the stadium and then again on Sunday. I critiqued it just like I did when I coached QBs for 13 years.

A QB rating is useful only if you consider how it's calculated. A game with short passes and no TD passes will result in a "terrible" score. That's why his QB rating was so low. The INT hurt his rating slightly, less than 7 points, but the best ratings come from TD passes and big yards.

What do you want ?? Better yet, what are your expectations ?? A first year starter playing one of the best defenses in football thats highly motivated. One loss and some are looking for the "fall guy":lance: Freakin Ridiculous.

And one of the INT AJ threw was just a great play by the DB. Sure, a more seasoned QB might have seen the DB off to the side baiting him, but a good portion of them would have made the same throw.

Well isn't our offense approved by Saban in a way so thats that and yes I would like a new OC

AJ Macaron tecnique is worse than it was last year he would have made those throws last year

our talent at WR is not what it needs to be it is being addressed Duron Carter and this signing class ; our offensive talent will be like our defensive talent. :a:

Seriously?!! You actually think that? So the AJ that went in against the Barn when McElroy got knocked out was better than the one Sat. night against LSU? You must have been in the same car smokin with the "honey badger" and his posse!!!

Well.....nobody can question the fact that we here at Alabama have our share of the Village Idiots that think they know football.
