Take last week for an example: a lot of us was disappointed in how many points we gave up. It was a sweetart of a game. This week, we feel that the offense was not consistent and the defense lost their cool and shouldn’t have.
Orrrrr, is it that CNS has made us All buy into the process and we’re too critical and we over analyze results?

Man, it's all relative, as far as fan bases go. But on average, when you get past the bandwagon novice, yes we are a knowledgeable group. The mistake is taking any particular week of football as gospel. Matchups and schemes have a lot to do with how you look against different opponents. NO team is playing their best ball every week, in any sport. Many fans can't live with that reality even though they can's sustain that kind of success in their life either.

Many fans can't live with that reality even though they can's sustain that kind of success in their life either.....those fans that would like for Bama to play top ranked teams each week for the good of the fans to which I am not one of those. This bunch needs a break to get well and gather themselves before the biggest game of the year in Baton Rouge.

Over analyze needs clarifying a bit...I do think things are taken out of context--often.

There's a lot going on with the Bama fans base these last few years--increasingly so over the last two with so many launching podcasts, offering video breakdowns, etc.

One thing I have found to be true is you won't find many fan bases with knowledge of history like Bama's. That has to be taken in context as well--so many teams don't have history.

I don't know guys. The fact that the Bama fans were clued into the fact that if Jalen played in that 5th game that it meant burning his redshirt. They knew he was not getting the year back and the stadium went nuts for the backup QB because they knew he was staying to help the team. That was pretty amazing. That means the large majority of fans knew what was going on and was cheering him on for that reason. Iv never heard of a fan base being so "on the pulse". I also know that we have some psycos as well but Bama fans know football I would say more than the average fan base.

In my family they are for sure. We have a large family and at Thanksgiving and Christmas we'll have 40 to 50 people of all ages together at those gatherings. About the only thing the non Alabama fan in our family knows is the last time their particular team beat Alabama.

I would say that, as a whole, we are more knowledgeable than most. Bama fans tend to watch more cfb than most other fanbases. The Bham market is the undisputed king of watching cfb. More people in the Bham market watch some teams play than people in their home markets.

What get me is this! That most Bama Fans know more about the other teams, than the other teams fans do!
I can see that; like last week I thought it was kind of cool when I found out it was homecoming and who we were playing for homecoming. We were playing the school that invented homecoming. I imagine not many other fan bases would know that and if you didn't then there's you some more useless knowledge about another school.

I didn't and now I do! Thank You @mhardiman !

We are more knowledgeable because we are winning more. It is fun to see BAMA stuff sold out and all barn stuff on sale. I noticed Sunday at church my all barn buddies didn't wear their garb. LOL

I think we are just like any other fanbase. We have some folks that are fools, we have some folks that are really knowledgeable, and then we have a lot that know the game enough to understand what's going on during the game. What sets us a part from a lot of other fans is our passion. We'll do anything and everything for our program. We're there when the plane takes off, we're there when it lands, we "Roll Tide" complete strangers and use it in our everyday vocabulary. We empty our wallets, offer our time, and love to win. I definitely think we have been very spoiled as of late and it shows with a little lack of attention, but when we feel challenged we come out in full force. In conclusion I think we have a nice core of fans that do know how to dissect a defense and know our offensive schemes, and how to apply it to an opponent, and a lot of them are on this very site which is great.
