Michigan seems to be trending this year. Much like when Urban took over Ohio State. Big name school, hot shot new coach and opportunity to play early. Georgia is the same way. Getting #1 QB and TE. Doesn't hurt that they are from Georgia.

If I recall one of Saban's lowest recruiting class was after the 2009 championship. I think they were 5th in the rankings (do not recall if that was 247, espn or rivals). Thought it was odd then. A lot of moving parts with coaching changes. That could effect things as well as focusing on the championship game instead of recruiting. Regardless, I have learned to never underestimate Saban's ability especially in recruiting.

Our class just isn't making a splash this year, but I think we'll get quality over quantity. Just amazes me with us in the championship game that we aren't pulling more guys or even being discussed.

After so many great classes, it is easy for opposing coaches to use depth chart and playing time against Alabama. Doesn't matter that CNS has shown a willingness to let the best talent play in spite of academic year.

Frankly, it's amazing that Bama has had the recruiting run that it has.

In recent weeks, coaching changes have had a significant effect. Bama is focused on playoffs and CG and some of the top tgts/recent decommits or surprises have likely not had their belly rubbed as much as they'd like by the Coaches/staff to ease concerns. I'd suspect come Tues Pm, all that changes and Bama goes on a recruiting drive to finish strong. A victory parade would make up a lot of ground on a recruiting weekend
