i can understand sabans logic. burn a year before he transfers. If he already plays 4 games and then sits until called later in season in emergency.
In that case Jalen would want to play at end of season and the redshirt is burned.
Especially makes sense since he will not have restriction to transfer to sec like auburn being a grad transfer
