My 93 year old dad fell yesterday at home and broke his humerus bone near the right shoulder. I arrived around 12:30 this morning. He is at NAMC in Florence. Tomorrow he is supposed to be transferred to a rehab facility. He was to have a a procedure a week from tomorrow on his femoral artery in his left leg to remove blockage in his left leg. On top of that he has an infected toe with gangrene. 🤦🏼 Amputation coming
with that as well.

Rick he got on the roof at 91 to repair some damaged shingles. He didn’t fall that time thankfully.
Here's something we have talked about. I dealt with this again Monday evening. Now, it wasn't my 88 year old mom on the roof repaint shingles. I had one of those paper lawn/trash bags filled with debris from the annual spring clean up...and she went outside and dragged it some 15' to put it on the porch. (I have NO clue why.)

My point is this ...

How do you make 'em stop? You don't need to do that. You got hurt the last time you were moving things around outside. All the way up to "leave it alone." And, it still doesn't work for me.

Karma? She told me to not do things as a kid...and now I'm paying for NOT paying attention back then?

In all seriousness...

A couple of years ago I noticed one of those buses you see used for tourist, seniors, etc, going through the neighborhood with "Daily Activities" on the side. Within the past few months it's been on my street picking up someone in my sub-division. A little research yielded a company that will pick people up at their home, give them a days activities while feeding them, handling medications, etc, then drop them off at the house in the afternoon. It's an option ... can't say I like it, but it's an option.

Surgery scheduled in the morning at 7 am for blockage in the leg.
(Off topic, a little apology but not big one.)

I have an ECRP schedule, again, tomorrow at 7. It's been BEAUTIFUL weather here the last few days and wouldn't you know it, just before I have to be downtown the temp drops. So, there's a 25 yard walk from my front door to the Uber/Lyft in the driveway then another 50 yard walk from the entrance loop to the entrance to the hospital. 50 yards, temp in the 30's, with the wind coming off the Ashley River. It's going to be cold...and I ain't happy. I'm more upset about the 50 yards than I am about being put under, having surgery, then losing the day coming back to reality.

Back to regular programming...

Prayers lifted, our friend.
