yeah and of course USC doesnt fall out of the top 10 after losing to a non-ranked team and only winning 2 games so far

I didn't agree with that either. I thought they should be right above OSU.

Who would've thunk it?????????

Honestly, if you would have told me that, at some point this season, we would be ranked #2 - I'd said you were crazy. It really is amazing.

That is the lamest thing I have seen from the pollsters. Sure, USC is good and dominated OSU, but you can't lose to an unranked opponent and stay in the Top 10. You think if we lose to Kentucky next week we're gonna stay in the Top 10? Doubt it.

*EDIT*

Oh, and how does a #3 ranked UGA team (losing to a Top 10 opponent) drop below a #1 USC team that lost to an unranked opponent? It makes absolutely no sense at all.

Why, is all I want to know USC beats OSU they fall to 14 both ranked in the top 5 when the played. USC plays OST, ORGEAN FREAKING STATE MIND YOU AND STAYS IN THE TOP 10 What kind of BS, is that! This just shows how bent the systems is!

We need to take it week by week. Ranking doesnt matter until bowl season. But dam it feels good to be so high.

ROLL TIDE ROLL
#2 Team in the nation

Just goes to show how bad the system is for sure. We just need to keep playing Alabama football and the rest will take care of itself.

Couldn't agree more.

This kinda crap reflects the media don't no s&%$. Period.

AND that all focus on being successful should be on what is done on the feild. Everything else is chasing wind...

Holy hell thats some BS. USC is getting way to much love for losing to a unranked opponent. Man that makes me mad as hell!

I only care what the polls look like for us in November. That's the telling point of this team, but I'm excited for my Tide.

Why do we get so much more recognition from AP than the coaches poll?

Because most of the sportswriters will actually watch the (televised) games and most of the coaches don't.

Because the AP actually knows what they're talking about. Seriously, how many games (not in tape study) do you think Saban has seen this year. I know he doesn't vote in the poll, but you know what I mean. Sportswriters know much more than the coaches do.

Just take it for what it is guys. Whether or not you think it makes sense is not really the issue.

The polls are based on opinion and opinion is based largely on geography and exposure and the bias that those factors create for everyone who watches football.

It is cool we are doing well. Are we really the 2nd best team in the nation? Who knows. Last night we looked good but we play some GOOD teams down the road. Not to mention the fact that UT, MSU, Ole Miss and others are going to NEED to beat us to help make their seasons better than what they are now.

The road ahead of us is long.
