🏀 Anyone know when the deadline is for the late signing period?

My understanding is that it ends May 16th.

There is some provision that allows you to continue to add players after the 16th, but there is a hitch to it. I don't have time to dig that up this morning.

I'm not that much of a recruiting guy, but Pollard's recruitment has been the quietest I have ever seen. For the past couple of weeks I've been reading "updates" and they offer absolutely nothing new. All they say is Texas, Mizzou, Bama, and GTown which we've known forever. Whether we get him or not, I really hope we don't waste schollies on sub-SEC talent just because we struck out everywhere else.

^^^^^ This.

Grant hasn't been bad in this regard. He has indicated he might not give all three schollies this time. Unless there is another surprise from across the pond I don't think we will sign anyone other than Pollard, should we get him.

Sorry I'm not trying to sound negative but what if Pollard chooses another school? What happens then, are we not signing anyone? I don't like the idea that its sort of a "We need you" instead of "You need us" mentality.

100% fan speculation from another site, but people are thinking this kid might be going overseas straight out of HS. Brandon Jennings did it, but he couldn't qualify and he was always viewed as a one and done. It would be weird for Pollard because I haven't heard of any grade problems or anyone who thinks he's a one and done.

I think this kid was dead set on MSU and he really didn't have a 2nd option when Stansbury got canned.

No grade issues that I have heard about. He is supposed to be a pretty good student.

While the kid is quite an athlete, I am not sure that he is in teh Gerald Wallace class as far as being NBA reaady. For one thing, his body does not look anywhere near ready to take the NBA pounding.

Dead set may be a little strong, but MSU was definirely high up on his list until Slick Rick got the gate. I think that if the Georgetown assistant had stayed he might well be there. The mix of teams/coaches recruiting him kept changing. Missouri took themselves out of the mix when a useful alternative became available.
