I want Cam to play, b/c I want us to beat them at their best. AND I believe we can and will.

Having said that, while I have nothing more than what's out there to base this on, my gut tells me that Auburn through Pat Dye, McGregor and others is DEEPLY involved in pay for play scandals including Newton but maybe others as well.

I have heard that Tubbie wouldn't acquiesce to Pat Dye's back-room dealings, but that Chizik has fully embraced it. This would have alot do to with that extraordinary recruiting class and landing Cam as well.

I think the hammer is going to fall hard on this one.

I have to believe that Coach Saban has a better handle on things for us. It appears that he is running a very, very tight ship. I just hope that aren't any UA boosters as stupid as these Auburn guys.

PS - Duder's recent silence on this is deafening.

IMO, daddy Newton got caught in the wrong place, at the wrong time. If I am an investigator, I don't go asking questions that I already know the answer to. Asking about McGregor tells me that they have someone else, and they are making sure that the ones who are "caught" don't have ties to Mcgregor as well. Who are the other players in this mess? IN MY OPINION, those are the ones who have been "caught." Is it Lowder? Is it Dye? Is it Troopah? Look and see when Wing-nut's contract was bought out. Look and see when Colonial got TARP funds. To these apparent rednecks, it was free money! I think that is how all of this mess got started and the FBI got involved. I'm sure these geniuses were hard to catch.

I want the best to play the best within the ALL the rules. Just as I would not illegal plays to impact a game, I don't want to illegal players to influence the game.

There's no TARP angle to this. Colonial never got TARP funds.

My view is the fed wiretaps getting the goods on McGregor's political bribes also uncovered the play-for-pay activities. I think Dye, Trooper and Chizik are all aware and implicated. I'd also have a hard time believing Dye would do anything at aubrun without Lowder's blessing.

I'm so with you on this one, dezz. If we could have gotten rid of Cam and Fairley that would have been the bomb. Mr. Slive and SEC aren't doing us any favors with regard to either.

Exactly. If hell happens to freeze over and Cam isn't able to play in the Iron Bowl. It will somehow, someway be Alabama's fault. They're already saying we're scared of Cam and that we're the ones tossing fuel to the flames. They're in rare form during these trying times.

Kirk doesn't seem to be their guy anymore. He hasn't for the past 3 weeks or so it seems to me. I'm sure Kirk loves looking like the guy that picked them to go all the way. But that was before his beloved Suckeyes went down.
