šŸˆ Anyone else see the Walker/Cullman brawl last week?

Holy crap. They should definitely be fired and maybe even charged .. That's just beyond unsportsmanlike .. Coaches (and athletes) need to see that there are consequences for such ridiculous behavior.

My son's godfather lives in Cullman. He told me that the Cullman coach went to shake a Walker coach's hand after the game, and that's when he got the crap kicked out of him. This has been a bitter rivalry for years. Cullman won in the last minute, and the Walker coach didn't take it so well. If it is Halladay who hit him, he's likely to be fired.

Good!

That's pretty much what happened in the video. Coach in the white shirt lands a nice right hook then takes him down for some ground n' pound. Also looked like two of the same team assistants were jawing at each other and kicking. When the cops got involved you can see them pull one of the players out of the pile and his teammate didn't like the way the cop pushed him aside. I thought that kid was going to make a huge mistake right there.

Ahh Walker County. Pipe bombs in lawnmowers, people vanishing, and now, sucker punching football coaches.

I would be shocked if the Jasper police do anything to the coach beyond a fine. Most of the folks out there will make some excuse as to why the coach did it and should not be thrown in jail for assault. "That sumbitch was a runnin his mouth about the game and coach shut his mouth for him!"

Walker County is a special place......

Agreed. We have no idea what was said, so it's hard to say what sparked it .. Bad situation. I feel bad for the players.

There's NO excuse for it. I don't care what the guy said. When you are the coach, you have to set an example for those young men. You have to be above all those trash talking idiots. You win with class, you lose with class. His players worked their butts off and this jackass has likely ruined their season with his actions.

There should be two of them....one idiot crossed the field asking for it....another idiot gave it. You've got to control yourself especially in the position these guys are in. This has been brewing for years. It may be harsh but both schools should be banned from post season for a year or this will be sure to happen again although not on the field but other places of the two campus'. What do you think these coaches are programing these young boys to do other than fundamental football?

I have a close friend that is the OC at Cullman and he was still in the pressbox when everything went down. He said that the Walker HC simply "lost his mind". I've been told that the Cullman assistant went to shake hands and Holladay said " F*^& you and F%$# your handshake!" The assistant then asked "why all the anger?" Then Holladay sucker punched him. Recent history shows that their is some bad blood. During the regular season last year, Cullman waxed Walker by 30+ and Walker refused to shake hands. They then met again in the playoffs and Cullman won by 20+. Again Walker refused to shake hands. It was reported last night that, according to Walker people, the teams had agreed to NOT shake hands before the game. That may have been the case but often times cooler heads prevail and coaches will shake regardless.
