I saw a banner on the bottom of my screen in the background while working and I could swear it said, "NCAA Cancels all Fall Sports Championships for 2020." Did anyone else see or hear this? If true, I am very disappointed. What a politically-driven mess this has become.
Even if they do......I don't think that would affect college football, would it? The bowl system and the CFB championship are not controlled the same way the basketball tournament and baseball are done, correct?
Gymnastics had their first meet the second week of January last season. Their championships aren't until the first half of April. Alabama's women's soccer team, volleyball team, and cross country teams will be affected. (Rowing may be ... they compete year round though.)
Of course Emmert had to get his dig in at football, "If you donāt have half of the schools playing a sport, you canāt have a legitimate championship."

So.....somewhere a point was made...more bowl opening than teams with winning records....so I guess....everyone gets a bowl...almost...regardless of record...or some teams get to play in 2 bowls?

I believe the number is 84 teams/slots for bowl games this season. Are there enough teams as it is?
If they take all the teams from the new "P3" there's only 38 participants. CUSA, 14 schools, now we're at 52. There's another 12 found in the AAC, for a total of 64.
My biggest question is when do they start the bowl games? On the 19th while the conference championships are being played?
