Anybody else interested in the Deontay Wilder fight

I know this is an old thread and past the fight, but oh well. I love watching this guy fight. It's just really cool to have a hometown guy be the Heavyweight Champ. I know boxing has gone downhill big time, I certainly don't watch like I use to, but I do watch his fights now. He has a long way to go to even come close to competing with Vlad, but I hope he is enjoying the ride for now (I know he's enjoying his Rolls Royce)

I always prefered watching Vitali over Wladimir, the fight Vitali had with Corrie Sanders was pretty awesome. Two heavies giving it all they had.

Definitely cool for the Bronze Bomber, too bad he wasn't able to defend his title in Tuscaloosa.

Wlad has deceptively good strength and incredible fight skills. Wilder would have his hands full, but a good aggressive game plan could take him out.
Wlad has had some chin issues in the past, but has barely been tested until the last fight I saw him in. The opponent was aggressive but took lots of punishment in a decision loss.

Wilder is a long way from being a klitchco caliber boxer. He's young though and has plenty of time to reach the top.

I just hope that he can stay relatively humble.

I'm all for whatever is good for the city of Tuscaloosa and the state of Alabama, as long as its not a pro for auburn University. This guy going around the state fighting can be a huge boost for the state of Alabama and make another sporting event big here in the state. The atmosphere in Birmingham when he won his last fight is a prime example of what he could do for the state. So yes, I'm interested and I will watch him anywhere, for as long as he reps the city of Tuscaloosa and the state of Alabama.

I saw him sighing autographs at the pizza restaurant up on Veteran Memorial Pkwy (can't remember the name). Talked to him a bit and he said he would love to fight in Tuscaloosa and would absolutely love for T-Town to be known as a place for boxing. If he keeps on sustaining his success, that very much could happen, but it would be 2nd to CFB of course.
