📝 Any chance with Demetrius Robertson?

Last I saw he had a great trip. But Stanford is still his #1 and it depends on his test score after he takes it again.

Bama seems to be in better position, but alongside UGA and ND.

I think it's a long shot in any case, but it would be nice.

This kid was trying to get into Stanford so I doubt he needs to go where academic standards are low.

I'm hoping if he goes there he gets a degree worth a crap and not some Sociology, Psychology, or other crap like that. If any of those guys had half a brain they'd use that lowered entrance standard to their advantage, and then turn it into a profitable degree from one of the country'S best schools. My guess is that would be his plan, but hell, stay in state and closer to home at Georgia Tech where the academics are just as good, even their Business school is tops now.

I thought it was because of his brother, but I could be off as I was new to the fan base and our recruiting at the time.

In the end, it came down to an offer for his half-brother. Cal did, Bama didn't. IF the staff would have chosen to offer Keenan's brother he'd have stuck with Bama.

Why would a receiver of his potential attend Georgia Tech? I thought him taking one of his five officials to GT was just ..., well, an odd choice considering we're talking about fitting in to GT's offense. About the only thing GT can brag about with their passing offense is they weren't as bad as Boston College.

Megatron did pretty well in that offense, 2900+ receiving yards in 3 seasons.

He's an athlete, not just a receiver. They would get him the ball in a multitude of ways. Justin Thomas can somewhat throw the ball compared to others that have been through Tech, and I think Paul Johnson is open to the idea of, opening up the passing game some more. I think he realizes his stubborn approach to the same game plan every week is wearing thin on the Tech brass, so I think it'll be a hair different this year. Wing T offense will still be the base and a majority of what they run, but if they get Robertson, some things will change. Think if they had Thomas and Robertson, two guys that could change a game. I was just stating he could stay home and benefit just as much as he could if he went out to California. I don't see him busting out at Berkley and flopping at Tech, I just think those two programs would offer him the same opportunities in the classroom and on the field quiet honestly.

... playing receiver in a Sonny Dykes offense versus that of a Paul Johnson offense.

Cal ranked third in the NCAA last year in passing offense; GT came in 124th out of 128 teams. In 2014, sixth compared to 123rd.

I'll readily agree if he puts in time in for the academic side, there's very little difference in what he can get from either school. On the field? No comparison in my eyes.

I didn't say last year that they compared on the field. I simply stated that Johnson would work his offense around the duo of Thomas and Robertson. He's on the hot seat big time and I think he would work his offensive plan around his best two athletes. I cannot sit here and honestly say that he would waste his football career if he chose Tech over Berkley. He'll be used wherever he goes, but remember that Goff is gone and a new guy will be starting. I guess I still view Cal as a lower rung program in a 3rd or 4th best conference, making them very unappealing for anyone on the East coast. Unless you have low grades and simply go for admission reasons, like Marshall.

Goff may be gone at Cal, but Sonny Dykes isn't going to change his brand of offense! Robertson would average 80-90 catches a year at Cal. Meanwhile, Johnson at Tech has been stuck in his ways with the Flex Bone, not Wing T, totally different schemes. Even if Johnson "opens it up", what does that mean? 15-20 passes called a game? Then 5-7 turn in to scrambles and 2-3 more are sacks. Tech will give him an education, but they aren't in the same solar system when it comes to football and skill kids.

Guys, I never said they were the same. I just stated he wouldn't be wasting his football career by coming to Tech. He is an athlete, not just a receiver, so add punts, kickoffs, sweeps, receptions, and other ways of touching the ball. Go to a place you're the man, or go to a place they spread it across the board and you fight for share? Like I said, to me it's just not that big of a difference and he can get everything at Tech he would at Cal.
