šŸˆ Another week with a large line move: Bama opens at -6.5, now at -10

The one I expected to move was Boogs versus Dawgs.

I was surprised to see no movement on that as well (outside of a half of a point move in most cases.) The biggest move is the O/U right now (1.5-2.0 depending on where you're looking.)

FWIW, taking the over in this one. UGA can't stop the run, AU can't stop the pass.

@TheChief A common misconception is the line represents how many point the favorite will win by. Simply not the case.

Their reason on moving lines isn't to evenly split the payout or those getting ATS and have that result be even on both sides/teams. The simply goal is to get the same betting action on both teams.

At -6.5, they weren't getting a 50/50 type split in action. They're hoping the -10 results in such. (Commonly called dividing action.)

Another way to look at this: It opened at -6.5. IF people were taking that line and betting MSU to cover the oddsmakers would drop it to 6 hoping more would take UA. All indications is the line is moving up because the action is coming in on Bama to cover...they're increasing the number to get more bets on MSU.
