CBS Sports college football writers recently spoke with one-fifth of the 129 active coaches leading FBS teams entering the 2018 season to get their thoughts ā anonymously ā on peers for a "Candid Coaches" piece. They asked for honest opinions on everything from NCAA rules to social issues without fear of being outed.
Here's one quote from an anonymous coach to CBS Sports on Nick Saban, whom he labels a cheater:
Without context, it's difficult to interpret if this anonymous coach is being sarcastic here or genuinely thinks Saban is playing unfairly. His ability to develop talent is second to none in college football and the numbers back it up.
Alabama's seven-year streak of landing the nation's top signing class according to the 247Sports Composite ended in February.
The Crimson Tide finished with the No. 7 class nationally, the lowest final ranking since Sabanās inaugural campaign in 2007.
