šŸˆ Andy Pappanastos is tied for first in the SEC with eight made field goals

Let's see him make a few outside of 40 1st.

Pretty sure he hit 2 from +40 vs CSU.

46, and a 43 yarder. SLO's spot on with what he's said though...starting off this season we were looking at Pappy from 40 or less and JK from 40 or more.

That said, distance is coming together as the snapper, holder, and kicker get more and more work together.

He has done a little better. Was it the pressure that caused the early misses? Hope not

A little better? He missed two 40+ in the first game and hasn't missed since (including a few 40+ yard kicks.)

And, the biggest thing here is this--it's not all on him getting better. In the first miss against FSU you can easily see the laces facing Pappy, Scott spins it (ball still in motion when contact is made,) and then there's the hold...he pushed it a bit and didn't get good contact. It's not all on Pappy here...by no means.

I thought AJ was a better holder than that...

It might be a good time for everyone to take a look at the brand spanking new record book and get a history lesson on Alabama kicking. Percentage rates and productivity for Saban era kickers and how they measure up over the history of Bama football. I think you'll see we've done okay on the kicking front. Interesting tidbits: in all of Alabama football, there have been just 21 field goals of over 50 yards make by Bama kickers. 10 of those 21 were by a Tiffin, and 8 of those 21 were made during the Saban era.

On the defensive side, Alabama has blocked kicks that were returned for TDs 15 times in our entire history. Six of those fifteen occurred under Coach Saban. The record book is indeed being re-written each season.

RTR,

Tim
