Inside job: Adams said two of the Tigers' long pass plays were prefaced by intercepting Alabama's defensive signals.

Adams caught a 27-yard pass late in the first quarter and a 72-yard touchdown early in the third after Auburn realized that the Crimson Tide was bringing a cornerback blitz.
The blitz left Adams facing one-on-one coverage. Both times, Todd and Adams faked a short pass before Adams sprinted downfield.
"Our coaches figured out their signal and we were able to take advantage,"

i wondered what was going on in this game with their LB being exactly in the running lane on pretty much every play. what are the chances of that without some kind of knowledge of the play.

i hope they didn't email florida our playbook and signals. reh...

here's my conspiracy theorist coming out again....

James Willis? could he have tipped them on our signals?

Probably not but it's still in the back of my mind

Ummm, I've be nice. No, for two reasons.

1: JW is a professional and a competitor. I don't care if was coaching against his sick dad, he wouldn't throw it.

2. AU didn't try to retain Willis. Payback.

Annnd ,what would he gain by this?

Again i really dont think he would but just for arguments sake....

He is an AU man...player and coach his whole career and i wouldnt put anything past AU people (Fishing trips, computers). They will try and do anything to beat Bama and tear our program down.

AU did try to retain him and when he refused to give his severance check back they said fine go. I see your payback angle but could it have all been a smoke screen to plant a mole in our program?

I don't want to let this JW thing go any further. I have no doubt in my mind that nothing unethical took place with regard to Auburn's offensive playcalling.

However, if they indeed did steal our calls, or see something that tipped them off to our defensive plans, then
A- This is great coaching and playcalling by Auburn's coaches or,
B- Our coaches didn't adequately change/cover their signals to the defense, and didn't prepare for this game as they should have. I tend to believe we overlooked Auburn just enough to give them an edge. We took them too lightly. As hard as that is to believe, taking our in-state rival lightly, don't forget they have sucked the last half of the season, and we stomped them 36-0 last year.

We won't make those mistakes against UF. Our goals from the beginning of this wonderful year have been bigger than beating Auburn. We are now arrived at that goal mark.

What you say about taking Auburn too lightly is my problem with a playoff syestem. If it is going to happen with the current system, just think how bad it would be with a playoff system.

And to add to that belief, look at the ACCCG participants last week. I hate to take away from the UGA and SC wins, but why would GT and Clemson give a rat's *** about preparing for those games this past week? They are playing for the right to go to a SEVENTEEN MILLION DOLLAR Bowl this week. If they didn't take the whole two weeks to prepare for each other, then they are stupid.

If you think there are any unimportant games try losing one, particularly to your primary rival. Both of these losses riled the fan base and hurt recruiting. Wins would have secured a much better bowl for the loser, particularly Tech. This Saturday, when they are playing in front of a smattering of fans in the ACC championship game, their fans will dream of the SEC.

Exactly my point. You should prepare for all games, especially your primary rival. You should not rile your fan base nor hurt recruiting. Wins are always better than losses. But the fact remains, they both lost and I say it is because of the current system and would be worse under a playoff system.

Agree, agree, and agree. Sure, losing to the instate rival hurts recruiting some, and makes a lot of people angry. But let's not forget, as if we could, that we locked up the SEC West weeks ago, and the goal has been to get to Atlanta the whole time. Since that win over LSU, we've played Miss State, whom we shelled, Chattanooga, whom we shelled, and Auburn, who nearly got us. The one team in that mix that could even be competitive with us was Auburn. I'm not sure we've been our sharpest since beating LSU, and we weren't perfect that night. We overlooked Auburn, looking to Atlanta, just a little. If they were any other competitive program other than Auburn, we might have lost the game. Lots of Ifs and buts there, I know.
