Hey SM, we all make mistakes when it comes to writing. Even the best journalists and writers usually don't get it right initially and rely on revision to tighten their prose.

Guess I'm being picky here, but it seems like glaring writing mistakes are more common these days among sportswriters. If some of these so-called journalists would spend more time worrying about their own writing and reporting a story objectively than playing armchair quarterback and criticizing coaches and players, they might actually produce some decent work.

don't know if you saw this it was either on e:60, 60 minutes or real sports, but they talked about how writing sports articles is going downhill quick. they used the example of the BALCO investigation and how it took 2 years to uncover the story and that the paper that did it was having to let people go left and right now due to economic conditions plus the nature of newspaper. they also discussed a guy that worked for a paper and how he was getting pressure to have the basics of his article ready before the game was over so that he could publish it with as little facts as possible so they could get articles out quick.

kinda sad that we live in a day and age that everything is fast and we don't care about the facts anymore.
