🏈 An eye on Michigan State ...

My best memory from that game was when Sparty had the 3rd and Goal from about the 45yrd line. Oh and McElroy's lead blocking.

I loved CNS getting pissed when he put lacy in late to call off the dogs and try to burn clock and lacy responded by breaking off a long TD run.

I've never seen a coach so mad about his own team scoring.

CNS really does have a lot of class and respect for Dantonio/sparty. I think he was most mad because sparty had basically quit and it was going to essentially take kneeling on the ball to keep the beating from getting any worse.

At that point MSU had resorted to just swinging their purse at Eddie as he ran past.

MSU is going to try these short, mid-range throws early on to open up the run lanes. I'd like to see the defense go 4 man up front, and let them just swat the ball away like they did early on. Bama doesn't need to play zone early on.

I have absolutely zero concerns about the Sparty O or the UA defensive plan.

I think Bama needs 24 pts to win. More concerned with how we're going to get them. It's going to take more than HTWDH. Coker will have to protect the ball and make plays when they are there.

I think getting him comfortable with tge typical Kiffin short passes and working to hit Ridley deep will be enough to get some points. I think they'll wear down like every other team we played this year. We even had Ole Miss bent over the entire fourth quarter.

Nick Saban, king of Alabama, wary of rising Spartans

But then this is Alabama, which during this latest era of football distinction is grateful for Saban and for what he has overseen these past nine years.

Saban always has said the most difficult challenge for any college coach is to elevate a talented young athlete’s sense for what can be accomplished.

“They have a predisposition to be average,” he once said during his time at Michigan State. “You have to get them to want to be better.”

This ferocity he brings to just such an effort, not unlike what Bo Schembechler was able to execute so regularly during his reign at Michigan, or Izzo’s masterly work with his basketball team, is a psychological high-wire act not many coaches can match.

"Coker, Henry, and offensive tackle Cam Crawford all had variations of the same response when they followed Saban into Wednesday night’s session."

Did Verne Lundquist write this?

The spread has its roots. Saban’s team lost its only game Sept. 19, at Mississippi, when an Alabama team still sorting out its quarterback issues got behind early and fell 43-37.

You're being a little naive if you think we will wear them down like everyone else because Dantonio has tried to emulate CNS plan and/or process. They have come a long way from the last time we played them and are not to be taken lightly. We will need to start from the beginning and play to the very end. They have a good D and not too bad of an offense either. They don't have our talent but they are coached well. We certainly have to bring our A game.
