I'm just having fun. I hope you don't take offense.
I don't know our full depth chart well enough to know why others are playing ahead of others, and I don't know the players well enough to proclaim one a liabilty; however, over the years I believe the coaching staff sees enough potential in a young guy to throw him out there in a key position even though he's making mistakes. Cyrus was like that early. Eddie was like that early at corner. More than one offensive lineman over the years has fit that description, and watching a linebacker struggle with assignments and coverages is pretty evident. This year, I see Diggs out of position a good bit and needing extra help getting lined up. He's an explosive player with a bright future, but right now I can see him trying to feel his way out around the field. One of the more noticeable instances, at least in my mind, during the UT game, late third quarter when Hurts made a nice throw on a deep out route Diggs was running into the pattern area. Clearly in the wrong place, bringing an extra defender with him to the ball.
Here it is:
I'm not calling Diggs a weak link, but he's more rough than most of the players around him. He'll probably end up winning us a game before the season's out, and perhaps many before his time is done here. Just like Griffith, in my mind.

Tim
No, I know you're having fun, as was I. I definitely don't take offense.
I remember Diggs running a hair below and behind Ridley, and was so surprised we completed that pass. I think the coaches shuffling him around most likely screwed with him a bit. Pretty sure he came in as a safety. He's gonna be explosive for us though.
