šŸˆ All the Atlanta folks

I don't qualify as an Atlanta folk but do live in the Peach State in the SW section. Down here the folks love Mark, but don't think he is that great of a game day coach and is in need of better assistants. They love his recruiting but wonder why the kids don't live up to their expectations and end up losing to lower caliber teams on any given Saturday. Don't think they are ready to throw Mark out the door but want some changes like beating UF. I think he is safe while Tebow is at Florida in that the fans know he doesn't have a copyright to kryptonite but he better win a cocktail party or three after Tim's departure.

I have heard some terrible things, but not about Richt necessarily. Where you from elba? I'm in the SW region as well.

I live in NW Ga. 45mins north of the ATL. The Dawg fans here have been hushed,They wont talk about the game.....lol my brother-in-laws(GA.Fan) Says "He's not gonna watch football This year" Very Sore loser... Year before last all i heard was how Ga. beat bama, Last year we had a bet, he lost! BAMA beat that bulldawg ass & he had to wear a bama shirt to work needless to say he welched and got all fighting mad....lol Besides i feel that most Ga. fans are pricks!

My one UGA buddy has a "grain-of-salt" attitude.

RE: OSU loss. They were missing 11 players. If the NCAA takes 11 scholarships its to make a team lose (well choisen example for a Bama fan).

RE: UF. When has there been a team with more going for it than this Gator team this year? So, why should UGA feel any different than any other team on its schedule? Yeah, it sucks that its your rival, but he does not fear Georgia Tech...so therer's that.

RE: Mark. He feels proud that their coach is one of the "good guys" of College Coaching, and still seems satisfied with 10 wins and a solid, respected program. (Bill Curry had no such luck at Bama.)

I've got a UGA guy on my route. He's getting tired of regularly being ranked in the top 10 and never finishing higher than 3 to 10. I kind of understand. It seems to me that if UGA were to finish 8-5 or 7-6 this year, the seat would get real hot real fast. If he has record like that and then follows with a 5-7 or worse, he'd be gone. That's what a lot of UGA fans I talk to seem to think.
Richt wasn't brought in to win 10 games a year. They want it all.

I would think any team would be happy to have a 10 win a year, every year, Coach like Coach Richt.

Think it is more like they(UGA fans) have been content with it, but not happy.
Good friend is a huge UGA fans and lives near Athens. He is actually very realistic and has said for many years now that the fans and university would be content with 10 win years every year. My friend wants to see UGA win championships but does not see it happening under Coach Richt. Words I have heard tossed around, too nice and tries to be too much of a buddy to his players.

Heard on today that Cox went off on a reporter or something...dunno if that is true but that is not a good sign if it is true.

Joe Cox suddenly has critics, but he really doesn’t care

Athens — A week ago he was D.J. Shockley, the senior quarterback who waited his turn and would lead Georgia to the SEC championship. Today some folks are wondering if Joe Cox is actually Joe Tereshinski III, the senior quarterback who waited his turn and wound up losing his job.
Memo to those folks: Joe Cox claims he doesn’t hear you, and even if he did he wouldn’t be bothered.

ā€œI’m sure there was [negative] stuff said,ā€ Cox said Tuesday, three days after Georgia laid a substantial egg in Stillwater, Okla. ā€œHalf the people who are saying things have never played a down of football in their lives. I’d never criticize somebody like that, but they might think it’s their place to say how someone is doing even though they’ve never done it. I consider the source, who’s talking. If it’s someone who hasn’t played football, I could care less.ā€

Joe Cox was OK in Week 1. He completed half his 30 passes for 162 yards. He threw one touchdown pass, one interception. He lost a fumble on a sack. ā€œI did some things well,ā€ he said. ā€œI didn’t do enough to win the game. There are a lot of things I can do better.ā€
Lest we forget, it was his first start in nearly three calendar years. He’d had ample time to envision the moment, and he was, he said, disappointed by the arrival of reality. ā€œTo have waited so long, I expected to play better. I didn’t do what I needed to do.ā€

Georgia had seven snaps beyond the 50 on its first drive; it had seven more thereafter, and two of those were kicks. Obvious question: Was Cox’s much-discussed health an issue? ā€œI was OK. I was good enough to play.ā€
He might or might not be D.J. Shockley, but Joe Cox will never be confused with Alibi Ike. He expected to lead this team to great things and expects it still. For that to happen, though, he sees one thing that must be different. ā€œJust offensively, at times we were playing not to mess up rather than just cutting things loose,ā€ he said. ā€œThat’s what to needs to change.ā€
Georgia might or might not beat South Carolina this weekend — I like the Bulldogs, for what that’s worth — but don’t count on its starting quarterback going down quite so meekly this time. And don’t count on him losing his job anytime soon. He’ll be OK. Maybe not great, but definitely OK.

I live in Locust Grove and we have the worst UGA fans down here. I've yet to hear one thing from them since last Oct. They just sorta look past Bama fans these days. My entire family hit the Chick Fil A this past Monday for the fan days and it was loaded with bummed out UGA fans. I actually talked to a couple of ga fans the other day and they were let down, but not too surprised at how they started the season. They pretty much knew they were gonna lose a few games this year.
