Yes you had a great season but if you want to complain that you have been wronged by having to play Utah, win all of your games.

I would be excited to see a Utah/Alabama match-up. You guys have a great defense, running game and JP Wilson is a stud. Utah has some weapons themselves on both sides of the ball and it would be a lot closer than many of you may think.

I certainly dont think its a gimme game. Bama will have to play hard to win. Im not saying Utah isnt a good team I just want to see Bama play a big name team. Read this post I made to another Ute fan and see if you can answer these for me:


Welcome to our board. Look, you guys got a good team. You are undefeated with the schedule you played. But that doesnt mean you deserve to be in a BCS game. Look at the schedule comparison above.

Thank you for respecting and familiarizing yourself with the Alabama Football tradition. Since you have done so, can you not see why Alabama fans want Bama to play Texas, USC, or Ohio State opposed to Boise State or Utah? If Utah was a traditional powerhouse program, you would still have Urban Meyer as a coach. Instead, he went to the University of Florida, a powerhouse program in a powerhouse conference.

I know I have personally been hard on the Utes. But let me say I mean no disrespect for your players or coaches. But your program as a whole will never get respect until you do what Florida State and Miami did and play anyone, anytime, anywhere or join a big name conference. Then you can earn your place among the Alabamas, USCs, Penn States, Texas and Floridas of the world. Until you do either of these, you look like someone who plays a bunch of nobodys and expects to earn a place at the table with the big conferences. Like some kind of party crasher or something. No offence, but UGA, LSU, Bama, UF, or Ole Miss could have gone undefeated with your schedule. Could Utah have gone undefeated with Bama or Florida's schedule?

Also, let me ask you one more question. If you dont answer any of my other questions please answer this one honestly. Would you be more excited if you guys were playing Boise State on New Years day instead of Alabama or say Texas? If you cant answer YES, then you should understand how we feel.

We don't feel "wronged" for having to play Utah. The "wrong" lies in the BCS system.

Utah vs Alabama should NEVER be a Sugar Bowl contest! EVER!!

Playing Utah is fine. I'm sure it will be a fun game. However, that doesn't change the fact that this game should never take place.

Utah is PERFECT and I give them respect.

I gave Colt Brennan and UH respect last year as well and was honestly ROOTING for Hawaii. However, it didn't take 2 mins to realize UH was FAR over matched.

This is a big opportunity for the Utes and I wish them luck.

I think playing Utah does put you in a really tough position. Utah is a good football team, but you are right. You have little to gain by beating us. The media will see it much like they did UGA/Hawaii last year. I don't disagree with that. It just bugs me when I see one loss teams complain. You can't afford a loss in the MWC and expect to make the BcS. That is my only beef.

I think we can agree on one thing. The BcS #%^@ing sucks.

Agreed. Sadly, that Hawaii blowout undid nearly all the goodwill the non-BCS teams had gained from the Boise State and Utah BCS bowl wins the previous two years.

Thankfully, Utah will actually bring a defense to this year's game, which is something Hawaii apparently left back on the islands last January.

You are correct sir. I assume you are a sir Its a lose/lose situation for us. We beat you guys and all the Aubies and everyone else says "wow, you beat Utah :roll: ". We lose and its perceived as an embarrassment as bad as our loss to ULM last year even though we both know you guys are way better than ULM.

It's the Sugar Bowl for crying out loud, it's going from a historicaly exciting bowl to a door-mat of the BCS bowls. I don't agree with the "should of won all your games" statement. Utah plays in a [EDIT] conference and even their out of conference games are against [EDIT] opponents. Utah is one of the many teams that end up in the top 20 every year because they play a schedule of crap.
