🏈 Alabama WR Amari Cooper hard to stop 'unless you put two guys on him,' Nick Saban says

Seen some pics on Amari this spring and the videos of the WR's practicing on Crimson Tide Recruiting's FB Page, he looks more "built". Looks more physical. God I hope he stays healthy this year, cause he is unstoppable when healthy.

rammerjammer That's exactly what I was thinking with sliding Chris out.

One of the things I've appreciated about some of Kiffin's changes is somewhat related to this. How often have you seen our offense use a hitch route, or a quick out, to convert for a first down? A lot.

In a sense we've eliminated audibles when we've got tight, man coverage on our wides. If Chris and Amari recognize the tight, man coverage and the called play is one of those two they're immediately switching to a quick fade route.

It's going to require a lot of timing and more importantly recognition from both the receiver and QB...but it spells success.

I honestly think if the QB works out (whether it be Sims or Coker) Amari could very well shatter all the records Julio set for a single season as long as he stays healthy. Watching Cam Sims in some of the videos, good lord that kid looks like he could be special too. Imagine everyone and their momma expecting us to just ram down your throat all day with a new QB, and then week 1 we walk out in shotgun with 5 wide (Amari, Black, Jones, White, and Howard). This offense could be scary good but it all comes down to the QB and if the O-Line gels.

I noticed last Spring some sets that used a 4 wide set with Amari on the backside. Take Black and Jones on the opposite side with OJ flexed, spells nightmares for any DC. Just for giggles, line up TJ, Henry, or Drake beside Sims or Coker in the gun!

I'm still waiting for Falkins to get some playing time.

With regards to Sims, you guys see the catch he made at practice (about 20 seconds in).

I'm excited to see what Foster and Sims can do. Excellent size, speed, and talent. I feel like those guys are what's going to open it up for Coop.

Our running backs are just awesome. Our top 4 are just stacked build wise. All over six foot and 220. We have a lot to be excited about ladies and gentlemen. I feel like we're built better than last year's team. More balance and some needed experience in certain areas this year in my eyes.

I had to watch it three times cause I couldnt stop laughing at Corey McCarron face planting during those running back drills lol

Add Ardarius Stewart to that list too. So many weapons. Oh, and then there are Yeldon, Drake, Henry, and Tenpenny to run the ball down their throats.

To reiterate...Pick your poison.

<!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: dbtech_usertag_mention --> @planomateo <!-- END TEMPLATE: dbtech_usertag_mention --> I saw the catch. But, I got more out of watching the drill.

You've heard the expression about "perfect practice makes..."

Watch the lower body on the backs running this drill. Who do you think is doing it correctly? To the letter, per se?

I'd say Jalston and Henry. (Watch Henry get the practice award following spring camp.) It appears to me the other backs are "sliding through, sideways" compared to those two going straight forward. Which, in my eyes, tends to result in falling forward when they're running the ball.
