The Opening is one of the biggest invite-only camps in the country. The Opening is hosted by Nike at their world headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. The event begins June 30th-July 3rd. The event features 162 of the top players in the country. Prospects will compete in similar camp format as the Rivals Five-Star Challenge. It included the 7-on-7, lineman challenge and SPARQ testing competition. Several of Alabama's top signees compete in The Opening in 2012: Derrick Henry, Altee Tenpenny, Reuben Foster, Cooper Bateman, O.J. Howard and Maurice Smith.

Due to Yahoo!Sports/Rivals.com partnership with Under Armour we'll have several local team site publishers and their analysts on site, and most all the top players were seen at the Rivals Five-Star Challenge.
