šŸˆ Alabama still hearing talk of LSU

The talk won't go away. Alabama versus LSU, two games that defined a college football season, isn't going away anytime soon.Eight months after Round 1, Alabama tight end Michael Williams is still asked about the touchdown he had wrestled from him by LSU safety Eric Reed. Six months after Round 2, Alabama coach Nick Saban can't get through an interview without being asked whether or not a team that didn't win a conference championship should play for the BCS title.

Saban is right, people making these comments are people outside of our conference. Screw them! Let them come in here and play in this league every week. I still can't believe we have a few Arkansas fans that think we should jump into the Big12. That's insane.

I think it makes you better. The competition definitely makes you better IMHO.

Even Vandy. I was at the Liberty Bowl last year and I was pulling for them to win so hard. You gotta like James Franklin.

Anyway, your game with LSU is gonna be a tough one this year. I was talking with Terry on the phone earlier today and I've known Terry for 5 years now and the pause in his voice when I asked about this years LSU game told me he was concerned.

That's going to be a very good football game.

Not me. I still want to punch him in the mouth for his comment about having to grade/assess/size-up/consider a man's wife before he considered the coach.

I'm not sure why that would upset you LBS. Considering he was talking in the aspect of recruiting, it's a pretty fitting analogy considering how they are going into living rooms.

I'm impressed with Franklin. He's doing a good job handling himself and I do like his approach to recruiting. He made mention of negative recruiting in his comments at media days and followed it by "why would I do that when I can spend my time talking about all that Vandy has to offer." He has a good pitch; solid students and playing in the SEC: what's not to like?

Tell the WHOLE story now Chris.

I said before I say we win that game I'm doing a lot of introspection to make sure the opinion is objective. In fact, I went on to say that when I say yes—IF I do say we'll win that game—I want to have sufficient reasons why and be able to back up those thoughts.

I'll say this. Right now in my mind it's a pick-em...but, I'm getting sufficient reason to believe we have a good chance. One of those reasons I mentioned on HST yesterday.

That's fair.
