šŸˆ Alabama Should Heed Warnings of 2009 Tennessee Game?

I get a different feel from this team than from the '09 team. Maybe because we were so long out of the mix and those players were new to the hype and so on (even though we had a good '08). I don't see this team overlooking anyone.

Could it be that no one is overlooking Tennessee except the media people and a bunch of OFC members like me? If the guys don't get their adrenaline going a little for Tennessee we've recruited the wrong folks.

I remember that Greg McElroy almost got demoted after this game in 2009. A J almost had his red shirt pulled.

I'm not sure where you got that story from...but, it's not accurate. I heard Coach say he felt the game was well in hand up until about four minutes left in that game. In fact, I recall his statement being along the lines of "it goes to show how fragile a season can be" when he was commenting on the fumble when we were up 12-3.

If he were going to bench someone who had a bad game that day it would have been Ingram. After all, it was his fumble that allowed UT to make it 12-10.

Sorry! Dont mean to give out bad information. I wonder where I got that impression. Maybe after SC game going into Tn game. Once again sorry.

There were a lot of rumors about Greg getting benched after the USC game that season but it was just that, rumors. He had a HORRIBLE game against the Gamecocks—about 50% completion rate as I recall...two INT's? I don't think we broke 100 yards through the air in that game.

Going back in time...there's the example of "how fragile a season can be." It was Ingram, single handedly, who won that game against USC when we went to the wildcat. And yet, it was Ingram's fumble that almost cost us an undefeated season.
