As of now, I'd be hesitant to believe he's staying but we will be in good hands if he does leave. We've got some VERY good back-ups at that position that people are unaware of. We won't see much of a drop off there.
You're right, we do. But they do not have a ton of playing experience between all of them. And I guy ik hoping steps up and plays to a high level when gets his chance is Jeremiah Alexander. I've been looking forward to seeing him get his shot, unfortunately.... that didn't happen. But this year is as good as any to do so. Same with the other guys as well. It just be nice to have someone like Lawson in that room. But if not him, we could get someone out of the portal.

Honestly. the backup are good and they need to play to get the experience. That's the only way to get experience. If we keep dipping in portal every year just to get experience, then we would lose the players we have to the portal because of that. Honestly, we'll be fine. I don't see us grabbing LB out of portal adn if we do, we would do it for depth purpose.

Few things hitting from CKD's interviews tonight:

Sounds like We won't see massive Opts out for the bowl game. IMO, that's a good thing.

Hale doesn't need to be playing in the bowl game, but it's good for him to practice for 15 days to get ready for spring camp.

Yes sir, agreed on both points. If we can continue to show the moral high ground with no "big" opt outs, I'd say the mystique of Alabama survives as far as being a cut above the rest.

Been my concern as well

Not suprised.

We just landed a punter out of portal. THis kid is real good!

I had to look him up. What is a Oredigger. So will he be a punter or receiver or a safety?
In his Legend career had 77 catches for 977 yards and 10 touchdowns ... As a punter, averaged 35.2 yards with a long of 61 on 87 punts ... Also had 19 tackles and an interception at free safety ...

Jesus, I wish I had a mute button that would work across all apps and websites to mute all news about portal entrants. It almost feels as if the portal was created more for sports media to have something to retweet and talk about when no games are being played than for the benefit of the student-athletes themselves.

You must be from Loseranna?

After each play that Law has the ball he wants to get up and fight someone.

Lewis will not be missed. Holding penalty on the only kickoff return we had vs the barn. He is roster filler.

Law is a good player, good athlete, who will have a good career if he's smart about his landing spot. I stand by the fact he was underutilized.

Lewis will be replaced with another TE who is likely a better fit, so I'm not worried about it (nor surprised by it). But he's another good player and will be a solid pickup for someone.
