🏈 Alabama prized freshman QB reportedly hospitalized since Monday

Dadgum I didn't know we had all these Doctors/Medical authorities on here. What a great benefit to being a member here.

Yes, pls take these three nitroglycerin tablets, SQ. ( that mean place them under your tongue). Then take two Viagra.

I know Rueben was kidding but just to be clear since it's dangerous--Please don't take nitro (SL) and viagra--drops your blood pressure and it's hard to get it (BP) back up--course other stuff isn't that hard to get back up...
No problem I don't take any drugs at all except aspirin. Just having fun with all the Docs on this site.

Viagra or the active ingredient was originally intended to help lower blood pressure, but they found out thru feedback that it had an unexpected side effect, so they rebranded it.
Yep. And I once had a patient suffering from chest pains. He was on a golf course in a tourney.
Went through the normal routine of vital signs and treatment (O2, IV, EKG) while asking questions. I asked him three times did he take or was he allergic to any medications. He told me "no" each time. I gave him some chew-able aspirin re-assesd his B/P to make sure he was stable enough for nitro and gave him one. I called report enroute to the e/r. Once we got the e/r we put him in a room, and I gave the report (again) to the RN; " 58 year old male chief complaint of chest pain 8 on a scale of 1-10. patient states he takes no meds..." that's when he interrupted me and said, "well, I do take viagra..."
The nurse told me later that she thought they were going to have to code me, that I went pale as a sheet when he said that. I do know that I quickly educated him that, by him not telling me that earlier that the other med I gave him could kill him.
I did learn a lesson that day, Along with, do you take any meds, if I am going to be giving Nitro I will also ask "...including Viagra or other ED meds..."

Not that it matters but...my name on a previous site was "Ditchdoc" for a reason.

I have experienced a GI bleed before, not to the point of needing a blood transfusion, but it was discussed. So yeah, I have a lil' "speerance" in that too. I, being a typical southern male, was reluctant tell anyone for a while. And it could have cost me my life if I would have kept quiet about it.

@rueben Is there any statistics that would show which fan base has the most heart attacks? I believe BAMA fans would be up there.

I was at the Kent St. game when they hauled Updike out supposedly having a heart attack. We were headed back to our seats from the concession stand when they wheeled him by us on the stretcher. I told my wife that was Updike on that stretcher, she said "Did somebody shoot him?"

Can you use that in your study?

Couldn't have been Updyke. He's banned.
