🏈 Alabama practice report: Inside linebacker misses practice

One of Alabama's top inside linebackers, sophomore Shaun Dion Hamilton, did not practice Monday.

Hamilton, who had six tackles during the Tide's win over Wisconsin on Saturday, was excused to attend a family funeral, according to a source.

With Hamilton not practicing, Reuben Foster and Keith Holcombe were the second inside linebacker pairing in individual drills behind Reggie Ragland and Dillon Lee.

Here are other observations from the portion of Monday's practice open to the media:

— The quarterback groupings in individual drills remain the same they have been since the spring. Jake Coker and Alec Morris worked on one side. Cooper Bateman, David Cornwell and Blake Barnett were on the other.

— Quarterbacks and running backs worked on zone-read handoffs.

— Safety Jabriel Washington worked off to the side with a trainer while wearing a black non-contact jersey. Washington suffered a sprained knee last Thursday and will miss "a couple weeks," coach Nick Saban said earlier Monday.
