MINNEAPOLIS, April 23, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --

Jostens, the nation’s leading provider of custom, hand-crafted fine jewelry for college and professional sports teams, presented the University of Alabama football team with custom championship rings celebrating their 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship in a special team ceremony April 23, 2018. Jostens also created rings commemorating Alabama’s historic 2015 football season, in which the Crimson Tide were SEC, CFP, and NFP Champions.

ā€œJostens is honored to once again partner with the University of Alabama to help celebrate their National Championship victory and capture the story of the team’s 2017 season in a way only Jostens can,ā€ said Chris Poitras, vice president and chief operating officer of the company’s college and professional sports division. ā€œThese uniquely handcrafted rings will be a lasting commemoration of the hard work and accomplishments of the Crimson Tide players, coaches, and staff.ā€

A unique aspect of this year’s championship ring collaboration utilized Jostens ChampDXTM virtual art session technology, through which real-time input is digitally streamed from coaches and players to ensure the rings capture the essence of the season and the victories they commemorate.

Jostens ChampDXTM (Championship Design Experience) sessions leverage the power of technology to connect Jostens design and production teams with players and coaches from championship teams across the country to review, revise, and finalize championship ring details and designs in real time. ā€œWe have the best jewelry design and production teams in the industry,ā€ said Poitras, ā€œbut it’s through partnering with other great teams like Alabama that the true story of a championship season gets told. The virtual technology and interactivity of Jostens ChampDXTM accelerates and broadens that partnership potential.ā€

The Crimson Tide’s 2017 championship ring design features two College Football Playoff trophies, representing their 2015 and 2017 victories, and over 150 total stones; 53 of which line ring’s bottom bezel to represent 53 senior wins.

Does anyone know what the cost of this ring ?
a little over $400/ea. the ncaa puts a limit on how much can be spent.
Building on what sk33tr is saying here...

The limit by the NCAA on National Championship rings is $415. The rule is worded along the lines of "any single item from the National Championship can't exceed..."

On the same lines, there's rules about Conference rings as well. IE: Auburn's Western Division ring can't exceed $325. I don't know how the UCF ring falls--there's a clause about awarding agencies being limited to $325 but then we have the conflict of "is it a NC ring, or does it fall under an outside agency ring?"

I'm sure a Google search on awards will give full detail.

I'm sure the UCF ring is priced like a conference championship ring. What they put on the ring (National Champions, Conference Champions, Division Champions, Dorm Champions) doesn't make a difference.

No one answered my question above, are Coach Saban's actual gold and diamonds, or does he receive the same as the players?

If they are the same as the player's, I would love to hear how much value is added on simply because they are his.

He gets what they get. Value is in the eyes of the beholder. IF they were for sale (they're not), what somebody would pay determines the value.

Well of course, but just think for a second. An NFL ring is real gold and diamonds and go for $20-50,000. Just think of how much the ring of the best coach ever would go for? Collectors would kill for the opportunity.

But it isn't for sale, and won't be. Don't get bogged down in "what-ifs."

Geez dude, you need to lighten up a hair, too uptight. It's just something to think about. Your life can't be that full of things where you can't play a quick game with yourself and think of the possibilities. You're posting on here, so you have time and not getting "bogged down" by anything. And if you are in fact that busy, just move on down the road.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Don't get your panties in a wad. The value of the rings isn't in the material it's made with. The value is in the accomplishment. Is there value in a ring that CNS probably won't ever put on a finger? You know that he's going to put it on his desk or table in his office and show it off to recruits. I'm not, and wasn't, slamming you. I'm just saying that the value or price of the ring is whatever somebody would pay for it.

Ok, my apologies for taking your response the wrong way. It was more just a fun question to think about. I agree, it will never be worn and most likely stay in a glass case. I've just been watching Pawn Stars and got curious about the value someone would put on Coach Saban's ring, especially since the materials were worth a lot less than the value the man it belinged to brings to it.
