🏈 Alabama opens as small favorite to beat Ole Miss in tightest Tide spread since 2011

This was set to be a top-10 matchup until the Ole Miss offense struggled with Memphis on Saturday.

The Rebels slipped to No. 11 in the AP rankings, but the oddsmakers still see the 2:30 p.m. Saturday game as by far Alabama's biggest test of the season. The Crimson Tide are less than a touchdown favorite according to several handicappers and sports books.

Danny Sheridan's opening line has Alabama a 4 1/2-point favorite Saturday in Oxford.

The Tide opened as a 4-point favorite onVegasInsider's survey of sports books.

According to OddShark.com, it's the tightest spread for Alabama since being a 2 ½-point favorite to beat LSU in the 2012 BCS title game.

Through four games, Alabama was no less than a two-touchdown favorite, but beat the spread for the first time in Week 4 against Florida. The Tide hasn't been the underdog in a game since it beat Florida in the 2009 SEC Championship Game.

Alabama was a 14-point favorite to beat Ole Miss a year ago before taking the 25-0 victory.

Bo Wallace will need a "Garcia" type game to beat this Alabama team. He floats the ball terribly. His touch is to ride the ball high. I am not impressed with his arm. Their running game is poor. I'm confused as to how they are supposed to put up a lot of points. I think WV is better offensively than Ole Miss in every facet of the game and they scored 23...
