Bama News

There is no debate that the Alabama Crimson Tide has dominated the NCAA football scene for the last decade or so. Head Coach Nick Saban has led the team to three National Championships in the last six seasons and it is no surprise to see the team atop the SEC odds heading into next season.

Alabama has odds set at -150 to win the SEC Championship, according to college football odds posted on FanDuel Sportsbook. That comes in well ahead of the next closest teams in the Georgia Bulldogs (+180) and Texas A&M Aggies (+1200).

Alabama SEC Championship Odds

After losing a lot of starters on both sides of the ball to the NFL Draft, Alabama will have to work to bring the new players up to speed. It's nothing they haven't done before, though. Quarterback Bryce Young looks ready to take over Mac Jones' role and John Metchie is now the No. 1 wide receiver.

Metchie impressed last season hauling in 55 receptions for 916 yards and 6 touchdowns. He could take a major step up in his junior year. On the other side of the ball, Alabama has not given up an average of 20 or more points per game in a season over the last decade and there is no reason to see that stopping now.

The Crimson Tide also own the No. 1 ranking when it comes to the 2021 recruiting classes. Those star freshmen will be vital to this team's success. All things considered, Saban seems to have yet another team that looks poised to be a legitimate Championship contender.

Alabama fans should gear up for what is sure to be an exhilarating season.

Golding will have all of the pieces he needs to field an elite defense this Fall. If he can even just stay on par with last season, I'll shut up and give him his due. Some may say it's due to the players which can cover up some calls, but he is part of that coaching and recruiting, so if he can keep it together I'll finally buy in and eat some crow.

My expectations are the D would be better. OM or UF D performances would not be acceptable.
