Alabama hockey wins another Iron Cup against Auburn

The Alabama Frozen Tide is now 19-0 in matchups against Auburn in the annual Iron Cup tournament.

Alabama (12-10-2) won its Friday night matchup, 10-0, against the Tigers and then won 8-3 in the Saturday night game.

The games were played at Alabama's home rink at the Pelham Civic Complex.

In Friday's game, Alabama goalie Sam Schilling earned his second shut-out of the season and is now tied for the second most shutouts in a single season in Alabama hockey history.

Following the Saturday game, Alabama captain Jon Lovorn was named the Iron Cup MVP after tallying seven points (4 goals and 3 assists) in two games.
