šŸ“” Alabama is a seven-point favorite to LSU, yet LSU is ranked ahead of it in the AP poll?

I’m aware of that. Florida could say the same with some of their lesser games probably. We don’t have a lot of crossover games to compare so...
Auburn held LSU to 23.

We have two common opponents with Auburn, Arkansas and A&M, where they didn't do any better or worse than Bama's defense. It's the only common ground there is at this point.

vs Tex A&M

Alabama gave up 28 points, 24 1st downs, 389 yards
Auburn gave up 20 points, 23 1st downs, 391 yards

vs Arkansas

Alabama gave up 7 points, 13 1st downs, 213 yards
Auburn gave up 10 points, 14 1st downs, 234 yards

I don't understand.

Why should LSU be favored in the game when the metrics used to gauge and set spreads all point to the same line we're seeing.
I don't think they should be favored, I think Vegas believes Tua will be healthy and more than enough to take down LSU, plus home field adds a few points generally so Bama by 7 makes sense. If LSU hadn't beaten as many ranked teams this would probably be a -10 line. I think the over is definitely possible though this game.

From the ball control game we saw ten years ago through the Kiffin years and up through last year I believe the over has been the play once. Things change...but geez, under on nine of ten years?

I'd have to look to verify this...fairly certain that's correct.

Why?

LSU is seven points ahead of Alabama in the AP poll. Alabama received more first place votes (21) than LSU (17) (in other words, more voters think Alabama is better than LSU). The voters in the AP and Coaches poll have nothing to do with the betting lines. Those that establish the betting lines have nothing to do with the poll rankings.

What!? Home field advantage? I'll gladly take a 1 point victory, although I am not too sure my nerves will stand the stress of the game. I used to live for that kind of excitement, now...I prefer games where Bama scores in their first possession, and never looks back. As far as rankings go...I'll take Number One after the Playoffs.

Roll Tide!

it's like you're inside my damn head.

at the end of the regular season, i just want them to be in the top 4. after 2 more games, i want them to be in the top spot holding the trophy.

and for all games....foot planted firmly on gas pedal and never let up.
