The game wouldn't have the same glory as the 2011 Bama/LSU BCS rematch.
And really, what would a Bama Sugar Bowl victory amount to other than the victory itself? Revenge bragging rights?
Every Barner would just fall back on "Yeah, yeah what ever... we won the one that counted." And they'd be right.
Not that it wouldn't be a good Sugar Bowl, but a Bama victory would little consolation for getting bounced from the BCS National by a team they just beat.

Good point. They won where it mattered the most.

I never said it wouldn't mean anything to other fans or the players. I gave my personal view and spoke for no one else.

Once again, I agree with Phillygirl.... making it to the BCS National Championship against Auburn would be a whole different kettle of fish... or footballs in this case. That would be a legitimate and meaningful rematch IMO cuz essentially they were playing for that very trophy this weekend past.

Yet, Crimson&WhiteGecko makes a valid point too, "any beating is good beating". If that's the prevailing view then it wouldn't matter if Bama & the Barn were meeting in the Maaco Las Vegas Bowl, it would be a good match.

I bet the Sugar Bowl would be all about that. In my opinion, it would be the first time in a while they had a compelling matchup (Outside the NCG). Sugar always seems to have a Non-AQ that makes for a less interesting game.

I think for us to make the Sugar Bowl against Auburn it would require for the Orange Bowl to pick someone else, they have the first at large selection. There's a chance Clemson could fall out of the top 14, slight but still possible, and that's the case Orange Bowl gets to pick someone outside of the ACC since they will have no other BCS qualifiers (other than FSU who will most likely be in the BCS Title). In that case they would probably pick Bama as the replacement team and Oregon as the at large bid.

it's a bitter pill. barners are so loud and annoying. that is why we must try harder to totally dominate them year after year. so we don't have to hear their boisterous, low-class babbling.

i'm not necessarily pulling for a rematch, but at this point i'm definitely pulling for an OSU FSU BCSNCG. no barn in that game. i hope they get matched up with some other team that has the capacity to score more points than them.
