šŸˆ Alabama has the nation's No. 6 rushing defense after playing 3 of the top 15 rushing offenses so far this season.

I saw production last night even with the mistakes our offensive line made. It was a steady move forward even with tenrc covering Metchie most of the night. Bryce had to scramble a lot and made plays out of nothing. The bye week will help them get a little bit better.

Rushing defense definitely stepping it up, but I find it of no coincidence it revolves around games William Anderson shows out in. It seems the defense feeds off of him and he is the alpha that will make this defense tick. Just gotta hope the secondary can figure it out, because as good as Anderson is, he can't mask their deficiencies all year by himself.

But only UF exceeded their average # of carries against Bama, and by only 3. UF had 43 carries against Bama and average 40 per game. Ole Miss had 34 and average 49 pg. ut had 26 with an average pg of 46.

Bottom line against Bama. Why run the ball when you can throw it all over the field?

Because nobody has done that? Ole Miss and Tennessee had no balance and couldn't run their offense the way they have to.

A&M was the worst performance by far

My concern with both of those teams is they can't match up with our talent yet. Ole Miss has the skill players, but just hasn't landed the linemen needed to compete. Tennessee is in the same situation where their team was uprooted due to the coaching changes. Florida on the other hand has recruited decent linemen for a number of years and was able to handle us. Texas A&M has always had decent linemen. I say this to point out that a veteran line doesn't seem to have problems with us where a lacking/green line does. I understand by my logic we should murder everyone as our talent and depth is unmatched, and clearly understand just because of that we shouldn't just be given wins, but making the point that both of the programs that were averaging more just don't have the depth yet. They're more in rebuild rather than reload. Alabama can win so many games by our talent alone and no gameplan, but when we face a team with talent and coaching it seems to be a little closer.

Ole Miss is a really good team. They ran all over LSU, who has some really good players on the DL and at LB.

Tennessee's offense is more of a challenge than almost anyone with their tempo, QB run game, and tons of deep routes. Hooker is a good QB.

Ole Miss is solid, but LSU is depleted and Orgeron is probably just trying to make it to the finish line more than being competitive. I'm just saying Ole Miss' line isn't competing for a Division title in my mind. I will learn more about them when they play Auburn and A&M.

You're right about Tennessee. I made the comment about Hooker last week hoping we'd get to play a good quarterback because I wanted us to be tested, not just gifted a win. He played well and definitely took advantage of our miscues. You have to wonder why we keep having issues in the secondary. It's not THAT young of a group when you look at Battle, Wright, and Jobe, but also a full year of experience for Moore and Branch. Armor-Davis has been in the program for three or four years as well.

LSU is depleted, but their DL is still pretty good, no? Glenn Logan is a hoss. Maason Smith. Neil Farrell, Ojulari.

I'm more concerned about the DBs - primarily long balls vs the inside and slot defenders. Some of it can be fixed. Some if it was a tough matchup with how fast UT went.

The front 7 played good. When they are turned loose they are really good. The D shut down the UT run game which was Top 5 nationally and also didn't let the QB run wild. They settled in.

You just said it, "when they are turned loose". That's exactly what we need to do the rest of the season in my mind. Those guys just causing trouble and hoping to make it a little easier for the DB's to do their job and a quarterback not having all day to pick us a part. Just like I told my 7-8 team, just get in there and wreak havoc, make their quarterback make mistakes. We won the Championship over the weekend as well, 20-0 against the only undefeated team in the league. It was a great Saturday at our house!
