The pairing of Alabamaās football coach and a former Crimson Tide star golfer at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am finished under par in Round 1 -- just not far enough to make much of an impact on the leaderboard.
Nick Saban and Bud Cauley combined to shoot a 4-under 68 in the opening day of the event. That left the Alabama pairing tied for 79th. The two are nine shots off the lead shared by two teams who shot a 57 Thursday.
Itās not all about the Pro-Am for Cauley, who is in his second year as a professional on the PGA Tour. He is 1-over and tied for 114th among the professionals.
