šŸˆ Alabama Fans paint UT’s Rock

You’d think that a treasured campus landmark like ā€œThe Rockā€ at Tennessee would be better protected in advance of the Vols’ ā€œThird Saturday in Octoberā€ matchup with Alabama. Alas, before UT student fans could paint the rock this week, they were beaten to it by their Crimson Tide counterparts. Three pro-Alabama phrases are written on a big crimson splotch taking up most of The Rock: ā€œRoll Tide Roll,ā€ ā€œGo 2 Hell TNā€ and ā€œRMFTā€ (for ā€œRoll Motherf*cking Tideā€). Chances that this is painted over between now and Saturday: very high. [CBSSports.com]

Painting the rock is all in good fun. UT fans use it for their unofficial public disobedience platform as well:

Dang it... A few nuts make everybody look crazy.... Why didn't they just put Spike 80DF on it.

Lighten up. This is not by any means mean-spirited. If we had a rock that we tagged to display our emotions like UT does then I would only expect rival fans to tag it from time to time. This is not defacing a statue. This is akin to Auburn throwing jersey's on ours. clean fun since UT is going to paint their message anyways.

Alabama Fans Showing No Respect for Tennessee

[h=3]Alabama Fans Showing No Respect for Tennessee[/h]
It's been awhile since the Tennessee Volunteers have defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide; 2006 in fact. For the last six years the series known as the Third Saturday in Ocotber has been dominated by the Crimson Tide. Even though the Vols have given two other SEC powers fits (Georgia in a near win and a win against South Carolina the fan base has no respect for the boys from Nashville.

Yes, some Tennessee fans messed with 'The Rock.' Not Dwayne Johnson of course (because who would be foolish enough to do that?...and he went to Miami), but the giant one that sits outside of the Neyland-Thompson Sports Center.

The Rock is kind of precious to the Volunteers so I imagine there are quite a few fans and students displeased by the show of disrespect. They could head to the home of the 'red team' (what they are calling Alabama in practice), but the better thing to do would be to just beat them and than rub it in their faces.

That is easier said than done. Alabama is undefeated for a reason and not just because they have an incredibly soft schedule. Should Marquez North be able to find a few gaps in the Crimson Tide secondary it could get pretty interesting.

I like this writer; "The boys from Nashville." Kind of ranks up there with that screen shoot of the news showing Auburn in Georgia.
