šŸˆ Alabama Eligibility Chart

I hope Saban has something up his sleeve with the D-Line or that is going to be a HUGE concern next year.

Yeah... We really saw in that tilte game how much pressure gets put on the secondary with no pressure up front.

Davis coming back is huge. I have to believe L. Ray is going to be really good... But past that we just don't know. Mathis, Wynn, Barimore and some freshman need to step up. We need SPECIAL from at least 2 dudes... Good won't be good enough in the final 4.

Maybe, just maybe we can score a big time grad transfer?? Seems like a perfect situation for stud at a non competitor to want to step into!

D-Line having only 4 that are not freshman is certainly a concern. I was looking at the recruiting class and we could have up to 7 incoming freshmen depending on how things close out during signing day. We will need several of those to contribute quickly. Hopefully a few of these will truly be studs from day one. The depth was probably the biggest issue this year.

With as good as Saban recruits and his focus on defense it is very surprising that we do not have more D-Linemen with experience ready to step in and be studs. Quality freshman can certainly come in and do it but to me it is not ideal when so many of them will need to be ready from day one. Less room for error or development where needed when they step on the campus.

Ed Zackery.....Bama's offense is going to have to pile on the points early in the season so this defense can grow. Nick and staff missed on ILBer and DL over these past two seasons for sure. This cycle is much better but having to count on 1st year guys is a stretch but it can happen.

The chart totals 84. If you have a squad limit of 85 we have issues. First add two more open slots for the two freshmen we believe are not going to be on athletic scholarships. Then we have room for two more signees. But with only 9 seniors our recruiting class next year will have to be SMALL.

Rumor has it Tyson and the kicker from Hoover aren't actually signed to a scholly for now (blueshirt stuff). Not to ruin your coffee but think about this group going early next year this time....13,22,11,6,4,70,74,32,89.

Next year's juniors leaving could trump this year's total. And with an extraordinary drain on talent. We also will continue to see the Petitbon's on this team continue to make business decisions elsewhere. Most years, Bama seldom has a healthy supply of seniors.

There could easily be ten, or more, that leave early:
  1. McKinney
  2. Lewis
  3. Allen
  4. Moses
  5. Ray
  6. Jeudy
  7. Ruggs
  8. Smith
  9. Harris
  10. Tua
  11. ...
That would put the number at 19 open spots right off the bat.

If so then a 10-3 year should get Nick Coach of The Year

What you have listed is coming for sure. ( I don't think #15 will go unless he gets much better and #89 has to find another gear as well but the rest are gone.

Chris Allen better find another gear and soon. But who knows. These days the kids seem to be excited with the thought of leaving early like it's a badge of honor. I was surprised Savion, Irv Smith and Wilson left and Davis and Jennings didn't.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see XM have a season that puts his name out there much like Diggs did this season. I don't think we've had the opportunity to see what all Ray can bring to the table. He'd been following Buggs all season and we've seen how little substitutions are happening along the defensive line the last few years. On the season RD, QW, and IB had two times as many snaps as Ray.
