Alabama plays Auburn Saturday

The answer started out by the book.

Regarding Auburn's wide receivers, Alabama cornerback Cyrus Jones began by saying, "They're pretty good players, you know, athletic, fast."

Jones then threw in, "I don't think they're nothing special, honestly."

"But we still can't overlook them," Jones continued. "We've still got to prepare for them like we're playing the best guys in our conference. I just think we have to come in there ready to do our job, which we do every weekend."

While Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall threw for 456 yards and three touchdowns during the Tide's 55-44 win over the Tigers last year, both of Auburn's top receivers from last year — Sammie Coates and Duke Williams — are gone.

Auburn's receiving corps is led by senior Ricardo Louis, who has 44 catches for 675 yards and three touchdowns.

Louis is the only Tigers receiver with more than 27 catches, 223 yards or two touchdowns.

CBS Sports ranks every Auburn sophomore, junior or senior wide receiver 44th or worse among wide receiver NFL prospects in their respective draft classes.

When you watch film of receivers like Cyrus does every week, I am sure at first glance they didn't look all that. I don't think it was disrespect and he may need to brush up on "coach speak" but let's stop this whole "OH NO! Bama's over looking the Barn" crap.

When they show that kick six footage on that really big screen, that's all it will take for the guys in Crimson blood to boil. Let's get real.

I didn't take it as a slight toward their WRs. Seeing how piss poor their passing game has been this year, it is a honest mistake. Ricardo Louis, their #1 WR this year, has 44 catches for 675 and 3 TDs. In his career against BAMA, he has 3 catches for 13 yards! Next 2 WRs combined only have 43 catches for 397 yards.

Our leading receiver on the year has 701 yards receiving and 5 TD's, so let's be careful. Yes, we have better production after our top receiver, but Lewis is not that bad and their QB play has been awful. I don't see any way they have more than 150 yards passing in this game and probably under 100 yard rushing, unless Johnson pulls off a couple of long 3rd down runs.
