Mixing subjects here...

Anytime I see a reporter use a phrase like "in all my forty years covering football" as a defense I'm immediately suspicious. (See Brett McMurphy and the "Tom Herman as a source" stories.

On that note, any time I see "only .66 per day" I'm immediately suspicious. It's as if they know it's over priced and they feel the need to justify their pricing. Hell, reminds me of phone companies telling you "that phone is only 30 dollars a month for two years." That sounds a lot better than hearing "your new phone is only $750.

** My personal taste, mind you, but there's not a thing I see in this box I'd want.

Honestly, Rickey...the only thing in that box I see worth anything is the backpack. And, I don't know your school district but here in Charleston a lot have instituted clear bag policies.

I’ve seen all that stuff at Walmart

'ledge has it here. That stuff IS available at Wally World.

Personally, I'd rather you save the money you'd spend on your grand...get you a cable subscription and allow her to watch Bama football!

1st game is on ABC so you have a little time.

It's a great gift idea. Don't get me wrong. I'm looking at that box and see the car decal (15 helmet) and that makes me think it's overstock. Personally, if I were to put a magnet on the car...it's going to say 17.

Any grab bag type thing over $25 is not going to happen, even if it does ship only every 3 months. For $60 every three months you better include something other than garbage I can find at the Quickie Mart.

The first thing/image that went thru my mind when reading the title was like a Bama themed hope chest or something similar. It would likely cost more than $60, but would probably be worth it.
